RE-ELECT OBAMA: VOTE NEWT!

January 25, 2012
To talk with Gingrich supporters is to enter a world where words have no meaning. They denounce Mitt Romney as a candidate being pushed on them by "the Establishment" -- with "the Establishment" defined as anyone who supports Romney or doesn't support Newt.

Gingrich may have spent his entire life in Washington and be so much of an insider that, as Jon Stewart says, "when Washington gets its prostate checked, it tickles [Newt]," but he is deemed the rebellious outsider challenging "the Establishment" -- because, again, "the Establishment" is anyone who opposes Newt.

This is the sort of circular reasoning one normally associates with Democrats, people whom small-town pharmacists refer to as "drug seekers" and Ron Paul supporters.

Newtons claim Romney is a "moderate," and Gingrich the true conservative -- a feat that can be accomplished only by refusing to believe anything Romney says ... and also refusing to believe anything Gingrich says.

-- Romney's one great "flip-flop" is on abortion. (I thought the reason we argued with people about abortion was to try to get them to "flip-flop" on this issue. Sometimes it works!)

Nearly two decades ago, when Romney was trying to defeat champion desecrator of life Sen. Teddy Kennedy, he sought to remove abortion as a campaign issue by declaring that he, too, supported Roe v. Wade.

(Nonetheless, Kennedy ran a campaign commercial against him featuring a Mormon woman complaining that Romney, as a Mormon elder, had pressured her not to have an abortion, but to give the child up for adoption. Are you getting the idea that Massachusetts is different from the rest of America, readers?)

Romney changed his mind on abortion -- not when it was politically advantageous, but when it mattered. As governor of liberal, pro-choice Massachusetts, he vetoed an embryonic stem cell bill and "worked closely" with Massachusetts Citizens for Life. The president of MCL recently issued a statement saying that, "since being elected governor, Mitt Romney has had a consistent commitment to the culture of life." Read More »

Hey, thanks! Named for one of my inventions. See http://www.earglasses.com/old.htm

I plan to put a new and improved model on the market as soon as the new patent comes through.

“Serious question, how is he going to pay for the huge build up of the Space Program that such a mission would require?”

Well, he could abolish the EPA, DOT, NEA, DOE, BAFTE, DOC, DOI...what have I missed?

The DOE has a bleeding SWAT team. What the hell does DOE need a SWAT team for? Bureaucratic overreach is a serious problem.

He could also revive the economy with serious reductions in taxes and regulations, which would produce a Laffer curve.

"If you don't run Chris Christie, Romney will be the nominee and we'll lose" ....I wish she would make up her mind!

Flip floppers sure are a tight knit group! She has absolutely no integrity - spewing off to deceive who ever she can for an agenda. I despise her playing with America/American voters for her own ego and pay off. Only bottom of the barrel trash would do that, IMO.

His own planet of course.

"it was just great to hear some 'visionary speak'

I love a good yarn too, but I am still waiting to hear from any of the candidates a detailed explanation of what we are to do about our huge debt. It seems like everyone in D.C. or trying to get to D.C. is in denial about federal debt. Guess they all skipped math in college, lol.

What Anne and other Romney supporters ignore is that if Romney wins the nomination the left is guaranteed a general election win.

Gingrich is a more capable debater and knows how to say what conservatives want to hear

Here's a more capable debater because he's speaking from his heart and studied what he loves best - AMERICA! And he knows what to say to 'Americans' - and they know truth when they hear it. And he was third in line to be president, he has executive experience along with running his own company - and balancing the budget FOR AMERICA.

What is so disappointing about Ann and her mouth, which presumably is attached to her brain, is that she is calling conservatives stupid. Well, Ann, I am older than you are. I remember the Reagan revolution, and who said and did what. Newt, being at that time a younger man and not as temperate as he could have been (and what younger person has not learned this through experience? ... Ann, are you listening?), was nevertheless clearly a strong supporter of Reagan and Reagan’s conservative philosophy before, during, and after his presidency. Did he disagree at times? Yes. Did others of Reagan’s supporters do the same at times? Yes. But by and large Newt and Reagan were agreed.

Romney said, more times than once, that he is not a Reagan conservative.

So, who am I to believe? I will take Romney at his word, repeated many times. And this is only reinforced by his demeanor, his tentativeness in giving answers to basic questions. People are not stupid. They may not be paying attention all the time (but many are now) and they may be susceptible to delusion, whether of their own making or of the making of others. But they are not stupid.

So, Ann, how dare you! I am deeply disappointed in you.

I see Newt’s flaws. And I see Romney’s flaws. I am a realist. But I also hear what each says ... and so do many others. I know who is closer to Reagan in philosophy ... and it isn’t Mitt.

“Serious question, how is he going to pay for the huge build up of the Space Program that such a mission would require? Not bashing the idea, since I am xNasa, but going to the moon and building a man capable base is not going to be cheap (or easy). Cost could be somewhat mitigated by surface mining h3, and who knows what else of value might be found/built there but the initial cost will be huge.”

For starters, you get rid of the bureaucratic approach to government.

If I knew absolutely nothing about issues I’d vote Newt simply based on who his enemies are. On a side note John King is one of the biggest dbags! He has no shame. Repeating all day what he KNOWS are complete falsehoods! Sorry for the rant.

TSA and Amtrak need to go private why the Govt is running the rail system is beyond me,

Maggie Thatcher got British rail private and sold it off and this should be done here.

The TSA needs to go and have their private security made up of mostly vets who know the score and security and have a love for this country.
Many of the TSA are useless and not very bright but because they have that power they’re like little commie policemen
