From NBC News:
Failing to show early signs of momentum in the Sunshine State, presidential hopeful Rick Santorum on Wednesday signaled he may be cutting out of Florida before the states Jan. 31 primary.
Speaking to reporters here, the former Pennsylvania senator said was unsure if he would be in Florida the night of the primary, committing only to campaigning in the state over the next two days. On Saturday, hell head home to Virginia for fundraisers and to prepare his tax records which he plans to soon make public.

He comes across as an argumentative teenager.
When did congress decide it was the right thing to give people homes they couldn’t afford?
If you are trying to get me zotted, forget it. I support Newt since my real favorite, Governor Rick Perry, dropped out.
Don’t EVEN go there!
He does appear whiny and “Mr. Rogers-y”. LOL!
I was hoping for better from him. But onward with Newt.
Sorry. I call ‘em like I see ‘em — and not without ample evidence.
Santorum IS selfish — in his eyes, HE is larger than the cause. He IS immature and he DOES exhibit a lack of wisdom.
While we’re on the topic, allow me to add: he’s whiny.
If commenting on what I have observed upsets your applecart, then let it be.
Don’t pretend that those truths are what sours you on Gingrich, though. Your mind is *already* made up.
Ande that folks is the only reason Santorum is still in the race. He knows, with certainty, he will not be the POTUS nominee.
He also knows Romney will need a very strong Social Conservative as VP to have any chance of keeping them aboard in a General Election. He hopes to be that Social Conservative.
I didn't make you post what you did. If you get the zot, it'll be because you crossed Jim Rob's line, not mine.
And I wasn't trying to get you zotted, by the way. I was just miffed about your back-handed knock on Newt. If Santorum is "the last conservative in the race", what does that say about the guy we're all pinning our hopes on?
Sheeesh.....
Nope. Not your call, DV.
I remember that now. It did sound like a script handed to him by the Republican establishment, meant to finish Palin off before she could do them any damage. It’s what I thought at the time, although I sort of let go of the idea partly because Palin herself spoke well of him in the weeks before Iowa.
But it is what it is.
HEY!!!!! I resemble that remark!
It’s time for Rick to go. I’m very proud of my candidate for doing the honorable thing and bowing out before South Carolina; now it’s Santorum’s turn. We need to get this thing sewn up so we don’t have to worry about Romney,
West or Rubicon would be another great choice. Newt couldn’t go wrong with any of them or Walker or Daniels or even the governor from Maine who is doing great.

Rick needs to give it up and get out. Its over for him.
I agree on all points. I have long believed him to be a stalking horse for Romney. He obviously knows he cannot win. Perry wanted to get out, and probably has a deal with Gingrich, so I expected him to leave. Santorum probably didn’t get the deal he wanted from Gingrich (or indeed, was more probably offered no deal, and is angry). It could just be pride though. When he and Newt argued the last debate (or the one before, I don’t watch them the night they come on, I hate commercials), he seemed to take it personally that he has no chance of winning. He certainly has shown contempt for anyone and everyone, so I don’t think he can endorse someone and remain credible at this point! We’ll see, I guess. He may be too busy doing his taxes at home, lol.
I think that whether or not he endorses Romney won’t matter. One candidate or another is going to get pummeled out of the race. I’m not absolutely sure it will be Romney, but I think it probable. He’s less popular, and less well known. Arguably he has worse positions that Gingrich, but he wasn’t in government as long to rack up the same length of record, so it’s easier for him to spin that record to the general public. So help me I am tired of hearing him talk about the olympics. I neither care about the olympics, nor care that he keeps saying he “saved” them. Who cares? Most of the country doesn’t, that’s for sure. But when you have a small (and questionable record), I guess you have to fill in the resume’ gaps with something.
Doesn’t say much about him, but he seems to be the only thing standing between us and Myth.
I will have my opinion and I think JimRob can live with it. I’m not ANTI-Newt...I just wished for a more consistent conservative. I was for Sarah, and Bachmann, and Perry before they bowed out. There aren’t many choices left.
Just don’t threaten me.
I agree, I don’t think it will matter whether Santorum endorses anyone or not.
As for Romney, he may not have any national record, but he does have a state record, and you’ll notice he doesn’t say much about it.
“No one wants Santorum in the VP slot.”
Whoa! Speaking for everyone, are you?
Oh, I know that. I’m just saying, it’s a short one. Less than even a 1 term senator. Just imagine the unspinnable record he’d have if he’d been in there several terms!
