A 15-year-old Wisconsin boy who wrote an op-ed opposing gay adoptions was censored, threatened with suspension and called ignorant by the superintendent of the Shawano School District, according to an attorney representing the child.
Mathew Staver, the founder of the Liberty Counsel, sent a letter to Superintendent Todd Carlson demanding an apology for “Its unconstitutional and irrational censorship and humiliation” of Brandon Wegner.
Wegner, a student at Shawano High School, was asked to write an op-ed for the school newspaper about whether gays should be allowed to adopt. Wegner, who is a Christian, wrote in opposition. Another student wrote in favor of allowing gays to adopt.
Wegner used Bible passages to defend his argument, including Scripture that called homosexuality a sin.
After the op-ed was published, a gay couple whose child attend s the high school, complained.
The school immediately issued an apology – stating Wegner’s opinion was a “form of bullying and disrespect.”

I thought the kid was from here in Mexifornia because starting 2012, every kid in grade-school is mandated to be taught FAG studies as per the new laws of 2012.

Semantically, I agree; “religion” should never be utilized in such a battle; my butt puckers up whenever I read or hear anyone arguing from a purely religious perspective, because religion is so very often just a thin veneer of churchishness pasted over a whole lot of ignorance.
Eschew religion in favor of righteousness, however, and you’ve got a whole ‘nother thing, entirely.
Righteous faith is no concession to either logic or reason. As such, it is not a losing proposition to show up at the OK Corral with Righteousness in the holster on your right, and Logic in the holster on your left. It’s no guarantee that there’ll be no enemies standing when the smoke clears, but the exchange will be long remembered by any that are able to leave under their own power.
One reason stories like this crop up is that folks like the School Sup. have no ammo to battle against an argument that couples Logic and Righteousness; all that’s left for them is to spew piss and vinegar; their signature cocktail. Whenever I see that happen, I know the score without anybody saying another word.

We had it because men stood up and FORCED it to happen, at gunpoint.
There’s no “day coming” - you have to MAKE it happen. It doesn’t just magically appear out of the kindness of people’s hearts.
What SHOULD happen is that every single, normal married couple with children in that school should organize quietly, then pick a day and show up in front of that Superintendent’s house, and DEMAND loudly and forcefully that he come out and make a public apology to the kid, on camera, with microphones. For that matter, show up in front of EVERY school board member’s house and FORCE the issue. Stay in the public part of the street or sidewalk, not the private property.
If the media won’t support it, bring your OWN and post it out here, guerrilla media style and send it viral.
If the leftards can show up at a banker’s house like they did some months back, we should use the same tactics on them. There’s MORE of us.
And then the same thing should happen at the school board meeting - only this time DEMAND that this assclown be removed from any position of authority over your children.
You DO pay the taxes that support these assh*les after all.
DO something more than just write a letter; they don’t give a SH*T about letters of protest.
Be an ACTIVE “activist” for what you believe in, or this will just keep happening over and over again.
Stand up. You only have the rights you’re willing to fight for.

Where's the ACLU? Whether I'd agree with the text of his op-ed or not, this clearly violates the student's rights. It was an op ed, by request, it was presented side-by-side with a contrary view. This tramples across three 1st amendment areas: freedom of speech, freedom of the press and freedom of religion.
The gay couple who complained are bigoted bullies.

Honestly, I fear for this nation. I doubt we will survive another generation if we do not shut down the godless government schools.
If government schools aren't razed to the ground, the foundations dug up, and the ground plowed and salted, then at least we should perform an exorcism and sell the buildings to the highest bidder. Most would make good prisons.
to Liberty Counsel: Don’t think about legal action, TAKE IT NOW. Sue the superintendent and make him take a course in the Constitution, esp. the First Amendment. Then show him the unemployment line.
Don’t talk about doing something, DO IT! Words are meaningless unless attached to action.
Waitaminnit...the student was ASKED to write an article in a point-counterpoint article. Every school newspaper I’ve ever known has a faculty advisor AND the school administration almost always has the final say so on anything that might be considered controversial. And it’s the *student* who is facing the fire from the Not-so-super Superintendent?
Leaving aside the kid’s right to his own opinion, why is he getting the guff when it was both someone else who solicited him to write the article and probably several faculty/admin types who gave it the go ahead? (Other than the fact the student isn’t a part of the teacher’s union, of course...)

The "natural law" that is the basis of "our Jurisprudence in this country" is the relationship between the sovereign people and their derived, dependent government, rather than the legitimacy of the people being derived from government grant. THAT is "Natural Rights."
What you Bible thumpers rarely grasp is what the Founders struggled so mightily to protect YOU from - the unintended legal consequences of your quest for religious control. Because (for example), if you take body ownership and relations away from adults and give it to state-mpowered religious authorities who present lists of acceptable behaviors, what you don't get - bu the LEFT DOES - is that it does NOT matter what is on your list. You get that? It doesn't MATTER. For tyranny to take root, the PRINCIPLE of the government seizing authority over body ownership is what matters. Form THAT you get socialism, communism, Hillarycare/Obamacare, school lockdown, TSA rapes, and everything else - and all they had to do is fire up your disgust at gays to get it!

The superintendent was most likely not involved in the decision, and from his/her reaction it is safe to say that they are far left on the political scale. I would be suing because the super BULLIED the student when all he did was what was asked of him.
Real bullying of homosexuals occurs at bartime in most gay nightclubs.
