I read some of the ethics report. They were TICKED because he had a plan since 1989 for Republicans to take control. And accused him of “partisan politics”. What a crime!

What did you think was Romney’s worst moment in last night’s debate?

Well, the brokered conventions and near brokered conventions have usually been dominated by party leaders. I think Dewey and/or Nixon actually “stole” their nominations away from the conservatives choice.

Can’t remember the exact details, it has been so long since I read it, but it was reminicscent of Dem tactics where rules are simply not followed or just “deemed” followed.

I am hoping Newt gets enough votes that we won’t have a brokered convention. If not, I hope he has a lot more than Ron Paul, but that the both of them have enough votes to combine forces and beat the libs.

Newt and Paul seem to be very close on fiscal issues & so it is not beyond thinking that it could happen.

The party elite are waiting for Juan.

My dream ticket is Palin/West in either order. What will it take for a brokered convention?

If the elites try to insert a new candidate, such a candidate will have to come up with the LOGISTICS and in a hurry (deadlines and timelines).

1. Money
2. Name recognition
3. Volunteers
4. Signatures
5. Staff
6. Paperwork
7. Etc.,

Plus, any insertion of a new candidate by the elites will look so OBVIOUSLY BLATANT!!!

One more thing. If the GOP goes towards “super delegates” like the DNC then it’s just another way of electing establishment candidates....points in the bank for them.

No, they wouldn’t. They are happy as pigs in slop with the status quo. They all sleep in the same frikkin’ barnyard with the gate wide open. They don’t leave because they LIKE it there.

They are scared of Gingrich because he has scores to settle with the rinos that turned on him. And make no mistake. It WAS rinos.

In a word, yes. In two, Hell yes!

Hi Friends,
Can someone please explain to me how ANYONE else can “jump into the primary race” and get on ballots in all the states?

Positive note from Florida is that a huge crowd showed up to see Newt in Sarasota today, and tomorrow there will be crowds to talk about in Coral Springs and Cocoa! Then on Saturday West Palm Beach will welcome Newt and those in attendance will also get to hear from one of Florida’s favorite Congressman, Allen West!

Can’t be done. The fact is that the GOP “elite” would rather lose than have a true conservative win.

They’re just as bad as obastard.

Mutt, Boehner, et al, I’m talking about you.

Finally, someone pointing out the facts: Establishment Republicans don’t want to win elections, not on any widespread basis. As odd as that sounds, it’s true.

* * *

I think my head just exploded.

Seriously, I’ve never heard it put quite like that . . . and I think you’re absolutely right. Why should the Establishment GOP actually *win* when they can profit by not winning, which is, of course, much easier?

And here’s all the great unwashed Republicans out here, thinking we not only could win, but should win. Silly of us, isn’t it?

Excuse me, I have to go glue my head back together now . . . .

The plan would be to enter a "unity" candidate like Bush and put every resource of the RNC behind him while pressuring the others to withdraw. The hope would be to deny any one candidate a first ballot majority at the convention. If there is no first ballot win, then delegates are released from their obligations and can vote for anyone. The party-designated candidate would then be able to wheel and deal his way to an eventual majority.

The party establishment would hope the conservatives, cheated out of an honest process, would go away, splinter off, do whatever, but leave the GOP to quietly play its historic go-along-to-get-along game with their big brother 'rats.

Only in some states. In other states, the delegates are bound thru two ballots.
