Former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson just endorsed Newt Gingrich for the Republican nomination.

Great News!
FWIW eh.
I saw it, and Fred Thompson used to be my Senator. He was my second choice in 2008
Nice endorsement! Better yet that it was in Romney’s very own propaganda mill!
And Newt’s momentum continues.
Did not see that one coming.
I assumed he’d endorse Newt, glad to see confirmation.
The press and the conservative purists managed to squeeze Fred out, but he was my first choice last time around. Duncan Hunter was also in contention, but I never thought he had a chance of winning.
Thank you for the endorsement, Fred!
bttt
Mitt seems to me to be talking as fast as he can, and much of what he says is sound bite lacking real substance.
He also did his best to muddy the waters about Newt and lobbying.
I am surprised.
Yeah, that word people use when there's nothing truly positive to say and maybe something really bad happening.
Globalist "conservative" Fred Thompson, that same guy who let John Glenn make a farce of the "investigation" into Clinton's ChinaGate treason, the guy who did the ol' fan dance in 2008 long enough to make sure conservatives were divided and impotent so that the anointed McCain could get his footing... Fred Thompson endorses Newt.
Are we paying attention?
Fred or Jim?
In the 2008 debates, Fred Thompson started to go after Romney at the South Carolina Presidential debate, and Romney was ready. When Fred brought up the topic of government mandates, Romney jumped in immediate with... ‘I like mandates, mandates work!’
To imagine that Fred Thompson would endorse Romney at any point after that exchange, in which Fred was literally speechless while Romney ranted like the liberal he is, is very difficult for me. That he’d choose Newt Gingrich out of the remaining field doesn’t surprise me. He dislikes Ron Paul, and while Rick Santorum might meet Fred’s personal parameters for endorsement, I honestly doubt that Rick’s campaign would have the foresight to actually ask for it.
What I really liked was the rationale. Fred says we’re in worse trouble than everyone is admitting and we really are in need of someone who can articulate for the public what we need to do about the mess we’re facing.
I agree...just like Churchill’s words meant so much in WWII - Newt has the same ability.
Me too, well third: Tancredo, Hunter, Thompson, Despair.
Jim Thompson already endorsed Newt on his website. :)
