Sen. Rand Paul told his communications director this morning he was being detained by TSA in Nashville. @moirabagley, the Twitter account associated with Paul staffer Moira Bagley tweeted around 10 a.m., ET, “Just got a call from @senrandpaul. He’s currently being detained by TSA in Nashville.” A spokesman for TSA said the agency was looking into the matter but could not immediately comment. Paul apparently set off an airport security full-body scanner, “on a glitch,” a spokesman in Paul’s office told ABC News. The Paul staffer said TSA agents would not let Paul walk back through the body scanner and were demanding, according to the staffer, a full body pat-down.

Personally, I think every senator and representative should get the 'fully treatment' every single time they fly. Bet things would change a bit.
I was thinking the same thing. The TSA picked the right/wrong person to detain.

Maybe if the TSA plays grab azz with enough congressmen and senators they will wise up and get rid of TSA. I hope Rand Paul makes a major stink out of it.

Maybe you haven’t been keeping up with current events. You are aware that there are a few thousand Muslims that want to kill us, aren’t you? And that these same fanatics have used bombs in the past to effect these murders .... they have no problem with killing innocent, unarmed civilians, in fact these are the very targets they focus on.

Former Senator Larry Craig now spends all of his time in airports at the TSA checkpoint instead of the airport restrooms.
When Larry goes through the checkpoint, he says “Give me the works, in fact make it a double.”
There are many first hand accounts of elderly women and children being molested by TSA employees while muslims in headgear and nightgowns breeze right on through without even a second look.
I hope they are patting down senators. I don’t trust any of them, and if I have to do go through it, so do they.

I was not aware he was traveling to congress. However, it still raises a question in my mind of his view on security. It seems he would be glad to endanger others by claiming an exemption to normal security steps.
