Howie Carr thread for the week starting with his Sunday Boston Herald column, "All Goes Wrong For Dudley Do-Right". Excerpt: (more below)--
Mitt Romney just cant close the deal.
Twelve days ago, Mitt was the toast of the GOP. This morning hes just toast.
Twelve days ago, hed won a historic two in a row Iowa and New Hampshire and he had a double-digit lead in South Carolina.
Now it turns out Mitt didnt even win Iowa.
Howie is a Romneybot. I just turned off his show...again...and I’ve been a faithful listener since the Jerry Williams days. He may have zinged Mitt a little in his column, but he’s back on the air trashing Newt.
With the shabby way Howie treated Newt on his last appearance, I doubt he’ll be back.
---
Kerry allegedly injured playing hockey (broken nose, black eye). Or was it Mama T throwing a lamp at him? Wonder if people are saying to him, "Hey, Puckface!" today?
I question if Howie Carr should, even, be a part of FR anymore. Howie and company (Sandy, COL. Hunt, Avi) have been pro-Mitt Romney for awhile, and it’s not fair to kick out members of FR who are pro-Mitt, while not doing the same thing to Ann Coulter and Howie Carr, too. Right?
Tell you what, should I stop the Howie Carr ping list? I don’t mind doing it but some people are upset about Howie embracing Romney.
There are places like the new HowieCarr.us, Howie’s Facebook, and so on we can go to if need be. Personally I think Howie has great columns, we have some nice discussions, and I can help spread great info, but if you folks on the ping list
would rather have NO ping list because he’s embracing Mitt,
I can stop. Everyone on the ping list, what’s your opinion?
I say I should still do it, but if everyone’s so upset
about the Mitt stuff, then I’ll stop and you’ll have to turn elsewhere.
Opinions?
I think it’s great to keep track of local politics. Ann Coulter has endorsed Romney, and I haven’t hear about her being banned from here. Also, the list is good for events outside of Howie Carr - like hearing about Tim Murray and probation scandals.
Currently there are 66 names on the HC ping list and I don’t know how many of them are upset (I know one person who complains isn’t on the ping list, though) about Howie and Mitt, etc. So far I haven’t seen mass defections from the list because of all this, for the record.
I’d much prefer to be able to receive, consider and delete stuff than not get the information.
NO DATA sucks.
Thanks for the vote of confidence—that’s very true. There may be Mitt haters out there but do you want to lose the stuff about Crash/Cash Murray, mob history, Devalue,
Joke Kennedy III, “Can I Get Me A Hockey License Here?” Kerry,
and so much more...
spot on!
keep the list going. If someone wants out, they can ask you to be removed from the list.....
Someone on the morning show suggested that Kerry seemed more to be sporting the aftermath of cosmetic surgery than a hockey injury . . . would be more in character . . . ;-)
Anyway, I think he seems to have gotten enough negative feedback from listeners to at least cut back on the Mitt rumpswabbery, so -- hopefully -- he won't again hit that all-time low of the time Mitt called in for an interview and it was soooo embarrassingly obvious that they were both reading from scripts (possibly scripts written by Mitt's people)!
exactly. Once in awhile someone will ask to be removed from the list...maybe 2 or 3 have in the past couple years. There has been no mass exodus. It isn’t all Romney stuff from Howie; he does a lot of other things too.
Agreed here
“Tell you what, should I stop the Howie Carr ping list? I dont mind doing it but some people are upset about Howie embracing Romney.”
Temporary insanity. Maybe there’s something wrong with US if we can’t bear a little dissent from someone who is unquestionably with us in all other respects.
Don’t disband the list. Even 75% of a Howie Carr beats the 10% of most of the rest of the Lame Stream Media. If FReepers can’t live with that, we’re no better than the DUmmies we constantly berate and laugh at!
I won’t...trying to prove a point here. If anything I’ve gotten about 3 complaints (one from a regular dissenter)
and 2 of them (including that dissenter) aren’t even on the
ping list. And by “dissenter” I mean someone who dissents with Howie and his support for Romney...and promptly
puts out a bunch of pictures and stats about Romneycare, etc.
He is welcome to post on this list (even if he is a lurker).
I don’t go around telling him to take a hike, even if he
is on here telling us (or at least HC) to do that.
For what it’s worth.
Agreed.
Death pool today, we hope?
Gotta have the HC ping list. There’s too much local skinny for me to miss it. I have not taken a oath or perpetual emnity towards Romney. He would be a HUGE inprovement over the incumbent.
I thought it was, at least, worth discussing whether or not to continue the Howie Carr ping list. It’s true that Howie’s issues outside of ‘12 GOP POTUS candidate issues are worthy of maintaining the ping list. Whatever...
Don’t stop the pings....
Howie will come around - the Colonel did - lmao
I pop over to WTIC-AM out of CT when he starts Romney-fying or Scott Brown calls in....
if these talk show hosts really start going gaga for Romney 24-7 - I’ll start listening to Music! - Hey - and there’s always WBZ :>)
