Reporting from Washington - Like an estranged married couple trying to reignite the spark, lawmakers again will pair off in bipartisan couplets at the president's State of the Union speech on Tuesday - making another show of goodwill after a year of bad blood.
As of Friday more than 160 members of Congress had agreed to mix it up in the House chamber for the Tuesday speech, eschewing the traditional seating chart: Democrats to the left of the rostrum, Republicans on the right.
The spectacle of bipartisan co-mingling at last year's speech was striking. Gone was the visual of half the room rising to applaud the president while the other side sat in disapproval. Instead, observers saw lawmakers jumping to their feet while their seat mates sat still - a somewhat more awkward scene.

I’m skipping my midnight snack. I don’t think I could keep it down now.
Makes things easy. Vote against any Republican who sits with the Democrats. At this point, I think I’d vote for an honest bolshevik over a dishonest republican.
Two themes will be replayed again and again during and heavily towards the end of this presidential campaign along with the “class struggle”...
Raceism....and “Why Can’t We Be Friends” ....Expect the latter as polls begin to show a drubbing for the dema-coms.

Bipartisan group “No Labels” — yeah, right. I smell a leftist Soros-funded front organization.
“Bipartisan group “No Labels” — yeah, right. I smell a leftist Soros-funded front organization.”
I am sure you are right!
B/c a sizable chunk of the populace needs a "relief" group. The elites know a good number of people will never join the collective mindless group think herd that they want to create. So for now, they have to give them the illusion of choice.
Would certainly boost ratings on this circus.
...Sen. Mark Udall, the Colorado Democrat who, with Alaska Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski, is championing the effort in the Senate. The two are sitting together. What's bipartisan about two left-liberals sitting together?
Other participating RINOs mentioned in the article: Reps. Michael Grimm (R-N.Y.) and Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), and Sens. Mark Kirk (R-Ill) and Susan Collins (R-Maine). No surprises there.
100 reps, then have a swallow of water. And I don't want to hear any "You a-hole!" or "racist pig!", although I do see where you're coming from."You Lie!
“Have Republicans totally lost their mind?!!!!!!!!!!”
It is not Republicans versus Democrats. It is the Washington government versus the American people.
State of the Union, “lie lie lie, but let me be clear.. I, I, I.. my, my, my.., so in conclusion, lie lie lie”
Almost identical to what I intended to post, but you beat me to it Taxman.
Pubs who choose to sit with the Dems just show they are big RINOs and we need to rid the House and Senate of them.
The democRATS are trying to HIDE among the Republicans so as to appear “moderate” and less conspicuous and the Republicans foolishly agreed. How dumb and politically naive can you get? The democRATS want to DESTROY them along with America and the Republicans are playing “nice”, how sickening!
On that note, I was in Beaufort, SC over the July 4 weekend last year, and dropped into Joe Wilson’s office there. Mostly to give the woman who was holding down the fort that afternoon a high-5 for Joe, and to say “he DID lie!”
I think she appreciated the sentiment and message.
If we can get a list of the (R) ones who didn’t agree and won’t do this, they get extra credit during their re-election campaigns. Geeze, are you sick enough of this crap yet?
They rule. They care not which party name you place upon them, or whether you think they are in power or not. They rule.
Nice job!
I think, of my two Senators, that Scott Brown will be sitting on John Kerry’s lap.
After all, Kerry finally has seniority.
Bump for GOP idiocy.
