It's 0930 EST and there's nothing in the sidebar that looks like a live thread for the SC primary . . .
15 years ago today Newt was the 1st Speaker in history reprimanded for ethics violations. How will Newt answer this? It’s worrisome.
That directed at me or Psycho?
Good article. I guess you mean that last part - that marriage becomes the home for the unrealized expectations?
Yes, and no. That’s a really good point, marriage with me in it becomes less than just marriage - but the point is that marriage helps us to fulfill marriage without God we couldn’t stand a chance.
I’m not asking for a perfect marriage - far from it. I am saying that if you do marry, that you work through the rough patches.
It is hard, really hard. Believe me, I understand some of it, even if I don’t understand all of it. And there’s a lot that is a total mystery to me.
Purhaps a simple question to self? Like, I wonder if there is something that causes him to sound like that? Sometimes even a simple question here before making judgment calls.
Exactly.
FINALLY! I have reached the end of the Internet and am going back now.
“Somehow the Catholic Church in all of it’s fundamental mutation of the scripture”
Considering that the wrote it, I would find that statement a bit challenging.
“ridiculous declaration, investigation and near canonization that a marriage is not over until the Pope, a Bishop or a Cardinal says so.”
Heh. What the Church teaches is what Christ teaches - what God has brought together let men not separate. And I guess you haven’t read what Christ also says - the two become one flesh, and that if you unite with a prostitute you are one with her in spirit too...
He was exonerated of all charges. It was a smear campaign. He did nothing wrong.
Who was Catholic at that time? Jackie, Newt?
I like Dennis - he helps me focus on what is important in my life - my family, love, happiness, and faith.
“Gingrich sought annulments from his wives.”
Did he get both? That’s the question.
Thank you!!!
Well, heres where you and I part ways. I think Paul is really clear here, that the Church can and does have the authority to deny communion to those who are manifest sinners.
How many did Paul deny communion? Seems IF it were the Heavenly Father's intent that 'flesh' man was to set up 'communion' inspections that Paul would have made that his mission.
That thief hanging on the cross was NOT required to follow any of man made tradition
You arent a Catholic, which explains why you dont agree with the teaching of the Church that states that there is an infalliable magisterium. This is why we disagree on this point. I believe in the infalliable magisterium, so please understand it.
It is because of this tradition that I would never be allowed to take 'communion'...
See some religiosity seem to think only through them and their traditions can we in the flesh be offered salvation.
The Church doesnt teach that God is limited to the Church. This is a common misconception. Some have taught this, but the Church said, explicitly, that Romans contradicts this, saying that even those who have no contact with God and the Church, will be saved, for they are a law unto themselves.
But the Church does 'limit' who can take communion, well unless they are liberal democrats.
Hope that clears up a few things.
A suggestion is to take your investigation into Newt's sex activities to the private confessional.
“15 years ago today Newt was the 1st Speaker in history reprimanded for ethics violations. How will Newt answer this? Its worrisome.”
You should try reading - Newt was cleared of all charges. He did pay $300,000 to pay for the expenses of that investigion. See, simple answer if you read.
I checked! I saw the annulment for Marianne. I could not find an annulment for Jackie.
Somehow the Catholic Church in all of it’s fundamental mutation of the scripture, convoluted that to mean that there needs to be this ridiculous declaration, investigation and near canonization that a marriage is not over until the Pope, a Bishop or a Cardinal says so.
You forgot to mention the money.
My cousin got an annulment about 20 years ago, at that time she had to pay $5000 in donation to the church.
I do not know how much it costs now.
Isn’t Christianity the Religion of Redemption??
Thank you!!!
As long as all 3 stay in (not counting Paul), steel will sharpen steel. Listen to what libs in the media and in your life say about all 3. We have time to sort out whose sins are the worst or whether marital or religion problems will derail.
To win the presidency, you will need the pretty religious, the pretty secular, to think the guy is fairly decent. The masses can’t think he’s wrong or sordid. There is still time. People understand that our religions are slightly different. They understand divorce. Let’s let it play out.
Applause! Anyone who can't admit that is kidding himself. :)
Maybe with the evidence already out there that says he was exonerated from all charges? Just a thought. I do believe its all posted on his web site for those who desire truth.
