Fox News ^ | January 19, 2012 | Fox News

I'm officially endorsing Newt Gingrich for president today. Was going to wait until after Florida, but see no reason to delay. We need Newt to win in South Carolina and Florida to stop any possible momentum building up for the establishment big government, statist, abortionist RINO!!

I still feel sold out by the class that promised me a Contract With America.

As a matter of fact, for the record, Newt was kicked out by the Moderates(!) ....

"There is no doubt in my mind he had the votes to win the Speakership, but I'm not sure he had the votes to govern," said Kenneth M. Duberstein, a former White House chief of staff ... .... from the article (drum roll please) .....

"What I believe desperately needs to take place is to heal the alienation that currently exists," said Representative Steve Largent of Oklahoma, a 'conservative' football Hall of Famer who announced his own challenge today to Mr. Gingrich's second-in-command, Representative Dick Armey of Texas.

The heart of the Speaker's problems, many Republicans said, is that he had never made an adequate adjustment from being the minority to being the majority, from intense backbench opposition to governing.

The hard-edged partisan bite that worked for Mr. Gingrich in the minority came across as stridency in power, Republicans said. ''Whenever we try to go on the offensive, the White House tries to make Newt the issue and whenever that happens we lose,'' said Peter T. King, a Republican from Long Island.

...... AND the "piste de résistance" ...

When Mr. Gingrich allowed Representative John R. Kasich of Ohio, the budget committee chairman, to try to rally House Republicans around a conservative blueprint for more than $100 billion in new savings [in 1998!], the moderates refused to back it.

I guess we’ll see how it turns out. I was a Perry supporter, but I am all-in for Newt now. He was my second choice for a long time. I never supported Cain or Santorum.

I’m doubtful many women will overlook his transgression

There's a reason Brian Ross' first visit was to The View.

I hate this election. Hate it.

Using the words conservative and Romney in the same sentence is cause for alarm.

Your buddy Ron’s small government ideals won’t mean diddly squat if Iran sets off a nuke, creates an EMP and ruins the worlds ability to use electronics. Ron would let Iran have nukes. They’re on the record as wanting to destroy Israel, and US. Has Iran ever taken back they’re declaration of war against us they made at the time of the hostage crisis???? Ron Paul is nuttier than squirrel poop under a Texas pecan tree.

Once I placed a pic of a pie being thrown into a talking heads face over
a stand in for Hannity. Minutes later he commented on it.
They all read and monitor Freerepublic.

Beck just said about who he would vote for, “Better the Devil you know, (Obama) than the Devil you don’t know”(Gingrich).

I've always thought of Beck a little off in the noggin.

Romney is a hateful and angry person who cares only about himself. He is not worthy to be President of anything. Obama would win in a landslide if Romney is the candidate for the Republicans.

There fixed it for you.

This site literally is show prep for many conservative talk shows out there.
In about 15 more minutes, will be interesting to see if one of the biggest acknowledges this.

Forgive my oversight.

I meant to say all those Republican Speakers *PRIOR* to Gingrich.

You make my point from other threads, precisely.

Gingrich’s loss of his Speakership is an indictment of how shameful and cowardly the Republican cognoscenti is as Lott’s loss of his leadership FOR PRAISING AN OLD MAN AT HIS BIRTHDAY PARTY!

"They" better be paying attention and pay heed to this. FR is not some light weight site. Learned a looooong time ago, FR has active members and lurkers that have depths of knowledge in a wide spectrum of topics that will deep six anyone not on the level.

Free Republic is a conservative electronic think tank with several hundred thousand participants and many additional readers, but its reach goes far beyond that.

Top conservatives who have audiences in the millions, such as Rush, Levin....etc, I would bet, browse Free Republic and read the consensus conservative opinon of the day. For example when Rush Limbaugh moves into his Atilla the Hun chair momentarily and fires up his golden EIB microphone, he will be fully aware of the Jim Robinson endorsement.

Most Amernicans may not know about Free Republican but its effect on conservative opinion is second to none.

Yes, Free Republic is not a light weigth site, it is instead most influential.
