I can't imagine what he is going through and how his family is coping with the process they have to go through to be loyal tho their beliefs, their country and the corps.
I know what I want him to do. I am praying for Ssgt Wuterich to make the best decision for him and for the USA.
faces of the dead children
Show the panel some pictures like THIS. Then ask them whose side they are on.
Fight it out! I couldn’t do anything less for my children and I couldn’t live with myself if I did otherwise. Semper Fi!
Under these conditions I have to say fight it out.
His three girls have to be a huge factor but admitting guilt and taking a less than honorable when you know you’re right would go against everything that’s right, I don’t think I could do it but I’m not in his position.
After what SSgt Wuterich has been through I wouldn’t question his decision, no matter what it is.
SSgt has done nothing wrong, so he can’t honestly admit that he has. Therefore SILT is not an option.
The Directed Verdict by Jones is the answer. Frank and Faraj fight on. Puckett fights on with them or stays out of the way.
But as Jaz says, it’s Frank’s call, and we must honor and defend his decision.
Fight.
What would you do in SSgt Wuterich’s situation as a single father with three young kids?
Tough choice. However, because all the rest were exonerated, I THINK I would risk the trial. Unless there is more “proof” on the government side than the other guys who went through trial, I would risk the trial and pray for a positive verdict. Another problem for him is that he has not had any promotions or anything at all since being charged so he is very behind in his career. His timing stinks big time (no fault of his) and they are slashing 60K out of the Army, Marine Corps and I would hate for him to go through the trial only to be told to go home because he has not had a promotion in a long time. Seriously that stuff happens. I will pray for him.
I see taking this trial to conclusion as almost no gamble at all. From following this case fairly closely and reading about what has transpired so far in the trial, it is clear to me the panel would have to be corrupt to fail to fully exonerate Wuterich. I don’t believe for a minute this panel is corrupt. And that STILT idea sounds like crap.
Finish this thing up.
Cripes, it’s down to the final few days.
Place mark.
Wuterich is a Marine, a combat veteran. In war there is only one way to go - Forward - to victory.
My father-in-law fought on Iwo (Army Signal Corp assault unit). He didn’t go anyway but up.
My son’s unit’s slogan since WW1 has been “First Forward” - OIF.
Take the fight to the brass and kick their ass. The honor and security of the Marines on the ground in Afghanistan depend on Wuterich taking the fight to the enemy and prevailing, because the ROEs are killing them with no relief in sight, and the Marine Corps leaders are now becoming sissified under Comrade Obama and Panetta.
A hard choice but Wuterich made the hardest choice we he opted for the Marines. After that, all was clear.
“There is no alternative to victory”.
Want to clear up a couple of things.
First of all, Puckett and Faraj were NEVER at odds over the plea agreement.
Secondly, the plea agreement was NEVER taken off the table.
I was there with our lawyers and these are the real facts.
