WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Iowa Republican Party will certify this month's presidential caucuses as a split decision between former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney and former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum, citing missing data from eight precincts, the Des Moines Register reported on Thursday.

A caucus is a lousy way to select delegates.
Iowa is a lousy place to select anything except the token yahoo who demands ethanol subsidies from the gov’mint.
It is not God’s country. It is not the heartland. It is a bunch of pretentious jerks pretending they have a clue who is best qualified to serve as president based upon who kisses their @sses the most for a year or so.
We belittle historical courtiers who s*cked up to kings to curry favor yet expect our presidential candidates to do the same to the Sun King wannabes residing in Iowa. B.S.
It’s time for Iowa to be the 50th state to vote and they should learn how to operate a GOP primary, preferably one that disallows Democrats and “independents” from voting in it.

Santorum needs to quit and allow Gingrich to win.
Your crazy. And to think that Santorum is not a conservative is even more crazy. I don’t remember Santorum having multiple marriages and bopping every trashy woman in skirt like Newt has. I don’t recall Santorum sitting next to the most liberal vial woman on the planet like Newt did with Nancy. I don’t remember Santorum calling capitalism a horrible thing like Newt has. I don’t recall Santorum thinking that paying more taxes to the IRS is a wonderful idea like Newt does. I don’t remember Santorum endorsing a radical liberal like Scuzzynova like Newt did. I don’t recall Santorum making 1.6 million dollars off the failed Fanny-Fredy garbage. Yes Santorum is 100 percent more conservative than Newt.
That will never happen. Some question the fact he will be inaugurated again
banana-split lol
Iowa doesn't assign any delegates from the caucuses. It's actually just a beauty contest. They assign their delegates much later (at a party convention if I remember rightly).
Also, the fact the mainstream media cannot bring themselves to say that Romney actually lost in Iowa to Rick Santorum, surely shows how much they want HIM, ROMNEY, TO FACE OBAMA for the simple reason he will be defeated. Clear as the moon in the sky.
The first Republican state should be Texas.

"This whole idea of personal autonomy, well I dont think most conservatives hold that point of view. Some do. They have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do, government should keep our taxes down and keep our regulations low, that we shouldnt get involved in the bedroom, we shouldnt get involved in cultural issues. You know, people should do whatever they want. Well, that is not how traditional conservatives view the world and I think most conservatives understand that individuals cant go it alone." "What was my vision? I came to the uncomfortable realization that conservatives were not only reluctant to spend government dollars on the poor, they hadnt even thought much about what might work better. I often describe my conservative colleagues during this time as simply cheap liberals. My own economically modest personal background and my faith had taught me to care for those who are less fortunate, but I too had not yet given much thought to the proper role of government in this mission." Rick Santorum, p. IX It Takes a Family: Conservatism and the Common Good (2005)
"I suspect some will dismiss my ideas as just an extended version of compassionate conservatism. Some will reject what I have said as a kind of Big Government Conservatism. Some will say that what Ive tried to argue isnt conservatism at all. But I believe what Ive been presenting is the genuine conservatism our Founders envisioned. One that fosters the opportunity for all Americans to live as we are called to live, in selfless families that contribute to the general welfare, the common good." Rick Santorum, p. 421 It Takes a Family: Conservatism and the Common Good (2005)
"If you're a conservative, there really is only one place to go right now. I would even argue farther than that. If you're a Republican, if you're a Republican in the broadest sense, there is only one place to go right now and that's Mitt Romney." Rick Santorum, 02/1/2008 [source]

Also look at his record.
Actually out of the 4 stooges I prefer Perry. The only thing iffy is his illegal immigration position. Then Gingrich. Santorum is a big government moron : look at his record. He needs to quit now. Santorum is splitting the conservative vote and giving the nomination to Romney.
One run by these guys....
I know he has some votes that I would rather he not have voted for. However, you have to remember we had a Republican Congress and President. Had he said no to some of these votes, he would have been criticized on Free Republic by some for not being supportive of President Bush. I know for a fact that is true. Some Republicans who went against President Bush were demonized on here.
I hope you’re right, Bert...I hope you’re right.
Santorum won and Mitt lost even with his $20 million in ads, end of discussion.
Pray for America
But Newt is better than nothing aka Mitt.
I’m actually for Pat Buchanan. I wish he would run. He has been right by being against 3rd world immigration, against illegals and against “Free” trade with China since the 1990’s.
It’s not so much Santorum’s voting record that concerns mewhat’s alarming to me is his expressed philosophy on the role of government, etc.
I don’t like it. I don’t want government playing culture warrior on my behalf as Santorum seems to idealize. I want government to LEAVE ME ALONE.
