Former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk is running as a Democrat against Republican Gov. Scott Walker.
She made her announcement today in an online video posted to her website and in an email message to supporters.
Falk says in the message that the 1 million signatures submitted Tuesday to recall Walker was an unprecedented and inspiring show of solidarity and determination.
Falk says she will make different choices than Walker on focus on creating good-paying jobs, a clean environment, successful schools and affordable health care.
Friends of Scott Walker reacted to Falk's candidacy shortly after she declared.
"Kathleen Falk's announcement today comes as no surprise, as we have long anticipated she would be the nominee hand-picked by big-government, public employee union bosses," said Ciara Matthews, communication director for Friends of Scott Walker. "Falk has already lost two statewide elections, failing to earn the trust of Wisconsin voters. Governor Walker's record of success and progress will stand in stark contrast to Falks intent to take Wisconsin back to the days of record job loss, massive deficits, and double digit tax increases. Falk's record as Dane County executive falls in lockstep with a Madison liberal ideology that is far outside the mainstream of the majority of Wisconsinites."
Falk is the second Democrat to announce they would challenge Walker. State Sen. Tim Cullen of Janesville is also running.
A number of other Democrats are considering getting into the race but havent made a decision.

Sure, let them have it, but let's press our state reps to harvest WI for their business base if Walker is defeated. Like Godfather Rahm said... "Never let a crisis go to waste." Virginia has been particularly aggressive.
Just what the citizens of WI need: another woman leftist to wreck the state. Go ahead Wisconsiners, elect her and see what happens (just look at my state of WA).
All the Patriots throughout the country should descend on WI to make a stand against these traitors and communists that are out to destroy this nation.
We need to stop them in their tracks!
WI is the new ‘Concord’!!!
The Falk you say?
She is not gonna win. Russ would have been a much, much tougher challenger.
well the likes of Mickey mouse and Donald duck,m etc did help her to get this recall.
Might as just well call it for her and have done with it.
WTH is it with WI anyway, the state is total chaos.
taking out under 18 or which we have seen two small kids singing this petition then we are looking at one in four signed this thing, B/S.
one in four .
thew unions use their money to get people to sit there and just keep making names up
I checked the total number of WI voters in the 2008 election. 2,997,086. So, if we want to condense it down to people who actually vote...it would be 30% signed the recall petition. LOL. Right.
My sister lives in WI. She says she doesn’t know anyone who signed the recall petition. And she works in a huge insurance company office in Madison.
I get this picture of a group of union hacks sitting in a room and just writing in any old names.
Probably hundreds a day from each of them.
The rats got their headlines because they know the MSM will cover for them too.
Here’s hoping a few good folks from our side will run against her as Dems... I can think of one up here who might give it a shot. LOL
Oshkosh, B’gosh.
Let’s hope Walker wins by a landslide. If the Dems win it then Scrooge on WI.
bump
“We need a Greece”
Don’t we already have California?

There will probably be more than 10% FRAUDULENT SIGNATURES
I’m pretty sure Micky Mouse signed 10,000 times.
