The Weekly Standard's Mark Hemingway wrote a few hours ago, "If in recent years it seems as if Newsweek has been descending into self-parody, it's still hard to imagine that this is real."
Indeed.
Is there anything the mainstream media won't do to get Obama reelected?

I’m reminded of that comic that had all these people on the rope line yelling “We love you Obama” and swooning, and Obama says, “Where’s the press?”. His aide says, “That IS the press, sir.”

Haven't read this article, but I do have to agree with the premise the question poses. All one has to do is look at the pathetic way the Republicans in the House and Senate handled the "payroll tax cut" extension. One would have thought that the issue had never before been broached. No plan, and no forethought whatsoever.
Listening to the misguided attacks from each Presidential candidate's campaign is also painful. Using Democrat language to attack fellow Republicans rather than focusing on Obama's miserable record is just plain stupid.

All I have to say in answer is...
let’s give 0bama the benefit of the doubt, that he’s not a radical Marxist.
Now, tell me how he’d be acting differently if he were.

We are seeing the very core belief of liberalism being proclaimed. Liberals have ALWAYS maintained that the vast majority of Americans are too dumb to make the “right” decisions in their lives and that liberal elites and the government nanny state must do it for them. Obama’s famed comment about those bitter people clinging to their guns and religion was another manifestation of this core belief. Of course anyone who does not espouse the liberal core belief is instantly labeled dumb, ignorant, racist, homophobic, redneck, a religious nut, etc.

Your right! Romney’s attack on Newt was despicable and showed us all the dangers of trusting a Rino in Sheep’s

It should be noted that Andrew Sullivan, who apparently wrote Newsweek's cover story, is a notorious
Trig Truther in league with the Alaska anklebiters, and wrote that he was proud to have helped stop Sarah Palin. Sullivan is also
part of the "gay mafia" that is demonizing all things Conservative.
And, oh yeah, he pretends to be a Conservative.

At a glance I thought this was satire. It’s really getting hard to tell the difference these days.
