This is what I want to hear, if righting our listing ship of state really is Romney's intention!

There's plenty of reason to be leery of Mitt Romney. However, one thing I am confident of is that the Romney of today is genuinely more conservative than when he governed Massachusetts. How much more is the question.

Comments like those above from a conservative stalwart like Rush Limbaugh are heartening.

Romney doesn’t change, he just says whatever is politically expedient.

He’s a milquetoast technocrat with no core convictions or ideas, which isn’t much different than Obama (well, at least Obama is a Saul Alinsky radical at heart).

Gads, what has Rush been smoking? Why doesn’t he just get behind a conservative in the first place?

I have a lot of respect for ElRushbo, but I can’t believe he is so gullible that he would believe Romney.

“the Romney of today is genuinely more conservative than when he governed Massachusetts.”

Define “genuinely.”

Yes, I agree, there is plenty to be leery and wary of Mitt Romney, but.....after the sad perfromances of hate, emotion, lies, smears and envy coming from the mouths of Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry, Romney looks like a saint. Actually, I firmly believe that Gingrich and Perry should withdraw from the race.

Gingrich with his love and adoration of Nancy Pelosi, James Clyburn, Dede Scozzafava, the loss of NY 23, the bad mouthing of Paul Ryan, love of global warming and the individual mandate, lies about Romney, is not one of us!!! Plus, with his hate and envy, he is not wrapped too tight upstairs. Not the kind of person I want as my leader or POTUS!!!

Perry, well.......what does one say??? Not too bright and he suffers from foot-in-the-mouth sickness!!! Both Gingrich and Perry are making the GOP look bad!!! The truth will opt shortly and they both will be gone, thank God!!!

Funny, Rush just yesterday said Romney would have to be pressured to move to the right because his natural inclination was to move to the center or left. Which is it, El Rushbo?

Rush is the same sucker that thought Christie Todd Whitman would reform the state of New Jersey. How did that work out?

How did Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Bloomberg work out for Sean Hannity when he was encouraging conservatives to vote for them?

Yeah, Romney promised pro-"choicers" to faithfully defend abortion rights in Massachusetts, too. Was he lying then or he is lying now on the issue? Or doesn't he just say whatever it takes to get elected and do what is in his own best interest?

He still defends Romneycare and openly favors gays in the military and gay adoption. If he can't take a conservative stance on those issues during a primary, why should we trust him to take a conservative stance on anything when he gets into office?

So what has Newt offered. Tenfold what Romney suggested and more conservative and closer to Constitutional values. Hey, Rush, wake up. Newt will do it faster because once an insider and accomplished so many constitutional efforts as Speaker, what make you think Romney could be better.

It’s very possible that Romrat said those things....to a conservative SC audience.

Because you see Rino Romdom will figure out what you want to hear and then he will say it! Ain’t that grand?

The last President that had honor, integrity and real conviction was Ronald Reagan.

And Romnut is no Ronald Reagan, not even close.

So there is a rumor that Romney might be misleading people about his true beliefs and not be so bad.

This is the same thing Hillary supporters told themselves after Obama was nominated.

I've been a loyal listener of Rush since about 1988, and being an "ex-radio" guy, I can admire his accomplishments on many levels, however...

I think he's being assimilated by the GOP mainstream...the RINOs. All I heard him do this past week was praise Romney, and bash Newt.

Back in the clinton days Rush thought Newt was great...had him on his show several times and sang his praises. But now, Rush has thrown Newt (and Perry), under the bus.

He can say, "Don't doubt me." all he wants, but I doubt him on this one.

Romney was a mentor of the "conservative" Scott Brown, who immediately turned back into a RINO once he was elected.

I just don't trust Massachusetts RINOs who claim to be suddenly "conservative"...does not compute.

I think whoever gets in there is going to face really tough choices and the only way out is by doing the hard things that we have to do. Of course if Obama wins he will be tap dancing like crazy and he will spend a lot of time in his new vacation home

There is nothing in Romney’s polical career to indicate he would do any of those things mentioned.

One of our guys needs to do an ad “The Next Day”. It would show our country six months or a year after elections. Romney would be working with Dems on gun control and asking for more money because his “investment” failed. Israel would be invaded and defeated while Paul went biking (who cares from debates), etc. People don’t project, don’t consider what their vote actually means.

And Obama, show the country transformed into third-world and Obama doing what he’s done for the first three years in office, destroying America.

If you truly think that, you are too naive to live.

Romney will roll back nothing. He will institutionalize all the advances socialism has made under Obama.

Bank on it.

Rush is a being revealed for the shill he is. It's really sad to watch.

I'm not sure if Mitt really changed, so if he is just saying what needs to be said to be elected. I'm for Rick Santorum, but if Romney is the winner... I'll vote for him, but I hope it is Rick Santorum and Rick Perry as the ticket.

With this election.. I am not voting for Obama...i know some of you will be indirectly

Romney is a human weathervane, pointing wherever the political winds blow.

"Look! He's a liberal!"

[political headwinds blow right]

"Look! He's a conservative!"

Where will the political winds blow now?

**RUSH: He says that he is going to roll back all the stuff the left has done. He’s gonna ban Obamacare. He’s gonna fix Medicaid. He’s gonna take on Social Security. He says, (paraphrasing) “I’ve got four years to save this country, and if I succeed I’m gonna be so hated, I may not get reelected.”**

Why does Rush say these things.

Let me fix it:

He’ll keep going with the stuff the left has done. He’ll install Romneycare instead of Obamacare. He won’t touch social Security or medicaid. And, yes, you will be hated.

What is wrong with Rush to be backing Romney? Anyone have the answer?

“Comments like those above from a conservative stalwart like Rush Limbaugh are heartening.”

They indicate to me the fix is in. Romney will ratify the leftist direction of the last years of Bush 2 and the Obama administration.

I am beginning to think Romney will win. A new injection of sedative on a restive population is needed. Go back to sleep. All is well. Trust me.
