Is that his car or just a photo of the type of car?

That's from Newsweeks story on the death.

My sypathies to Mr. Threlkeld, but HOW was he killed?
That looks like a fender bender. Even in a Mini, you can see the door still opens. Yeah, the rear fender is crushed and the axles are bent; yeah the car is totaled, but still...
Maybe he had a massive heart attack. I just don’t see that wreck as a fatal wreck.

It looks to me like the door is gone. Sheared off - or more likely crushed in and then removed by the aid crew. Enough force to bend the axles is enough to cause a lot of trauma.

Looks like an Obama bumper sticker on there too. I wonder if Threlkeld was borrowing the car, it looks like some college kid’s instead of a 74 year man’s. Also, I thought the Mini Cooper was gay...

A Franken and Obama sticker on a Mini Cooper - how cliche. Too bad he had to die, but thousands die each day and many are far more tragic and grievous losses to humanity. Well, some lucky mediabot will move up a notch tomorrow.

I can think of many reasons - all of which are dead on accurate.

New York and Minnesota plates have similar colors. Can anybody tell if which they are? Could be his kid's car or something.
Also, I thought the Mini Cooper was gay...
Try scooting through the arcades of Turin in a truck or SUV ...

Side air bag went off, you can see it coming out of the seat. There was no front impact so front airbag would not deploy in most cases.

Franken? Really.. Isn't there another Franken running for office in New York this year? I think that would make more contextual sense.
