I didn't have the privilege of knowing the gent, Luv, but from the outpouring of grief, condolences and reminiscences it is obvious that he was an outstanding gentleman, officer and patriot.

he was definitely one of the good guys, Conor. Kind, funny and dedicated to his service when he was in. He was really looking forward to his retirement and had bought a new house in the past 2 years.

Yes...and Grand Eagle. He was one of the first ones I thought about when I got the news this morning. Another untimely, shocking death.

Welcome.
Seems we’re losing more lately.

I ended up taking on responsibility for pinging out the Undead Thread when we lost Sionnsar last June.
I’m hoping that’s the last one from the UT for a long while.

House? It was a ranch in Nevada.

When I talked to him last, there were problems with waterlines freezing, I think he was out in the boonies, Heck I know he was out in the boonies.

He sent me some pics of the place in winter snow.
It was a handful, but I could tell that he liked looking out over the ranch.
He was one of the good guys.

I hope his last days were peaceful.

I have only had 4 friends that were officers.

All were Mustangs.

Well, I saw pictures of the house ON the ranch, but didn’t realize it was on acreage. I wish you’d post a picture or two of his place.

I, too, hope he had peace at the end and died in peace and no pain.

He will always be in our memories of good times. God rest his sweet soul.

I'm speechless, Tongue tied. We chatted a few times, too few; never met but I knew you.

Thanks very much, Kathy!

*HUGS*

I can't remember the exact quote or who said it, but to paraphrase, it is better to rejoice that we produce such men than to mourn their loss. That quote has resounded in me the last ten or fifteen years as all my uncles and my father, who preserved our freedom in World War II, passed on to their heavenly reward.

They have gone for a while, but will live in us as long as we hold their memories dear and as long as we tell their stories. And at the end of days, we will be with them again for all eternity in the light of the Dear Lord whose Will they obeyed.

Amen, Big Guy!

We all know each other without ever SEEING one another eye to eye.

He will be missed.....
