he was definitely one of the good guys, Conor. Kind, funny and dedicated to his service when he was in. He was really looking forward to his retirement and had bought a new house in the past 2 years.

When I talked to him last, there were problems with waterlines freezing, I think he was out in the boonies, Heck I know he was out in the boonies.
He sent me some pics of the place in winter snow.
It was a handful, but I could tell that he liked looking out over the ranch.
