Perplexing but true: Mitt Romney is on the glide path to the most easily secured nomination a Republican presidential candidate has ever had

WHAT "serious" candates? Palin is the only one I can think of.
Podhoretz is another so-called "conservative" pundit who has been in the tank for Romney.
Palin wasn’t and isn’t “IN THE RACE”.
Santorum is a serious candidate.
No real conservative would doubt this.
What is your definition of “serious”?
agree and yes serious means a proper conservative, socially and fiscal not some half baked republican who is liberal on social issues which have infiltrated the GOP.
Willard is his father’s son...a go-along, get along “moderate,” who wants to be liked by all. Even the union bosses could get along fine with his dad, as they plundered the auto companies in Detroit.
Willard will lose because conservatives will stay home this election. Let Obama run the Democrat Party into oblivion. Maybe by 2016 even the RINOs will have had enough, and we can have another Carter/Reagan election.
Last night was the high point of flake Ron Paul. He was polling well in Iowa and NH and was supposed to finish second. No so in South Carolina or Florida. I think he’s at 5% the last time I looked at SC polling. Ron Paul is not a threat to anyone. His weirdo supporters would rather burn in hell than to support anyone else, so he’s a non-factor.
Puerile speculation. In other words, not gonna happen. Paul has already made it clear he's not going to embarass Rand and taint Rand's political future.
“..the most easily secured nomination a Republican presidential candidate has ever had”
Bull. First, there have only been two open primaries in small states where liberals can come over to cast stink votes for a weak RINO and a lying anti-US defense, anti-US Constitution, crackpot. Second, it is still open whether Romney even won Iowa, and the fact that it was a tie anyway makes that “win” really weak.
The race is going to begin when we get to bigger primaries with registered GOP only and hopefully the conservatives get together to agree on one candidate so the conservative majority stop splitting the vote.
Iowa and New Hampshire should be a distant insignificant memories soon.
“Willard will lose because conservatives will stay home this election.”
If Hussein weren’t the President from hell who fully intends to destroy our country, this may be true.
But in the end, I think many Conservatives will hold their nose and vote for Mitt if he is the candidate.
In another election, your statement might be true. But there is too much at stake this time around.
We know the danger of another four years of the regime. The question will be whether the drones figure it out in time.
“ill-behaved Paul delegates”.
Paul won’t have control over the crazies that support him. They will be more well behaved at the Convention but the loons who support their head loon will have trouble putting a lid on it.
Rand has already embarrassed himself by supporting his father. He should have detached.
And a 3 term governor of a state that is the 13th largest in the world, a state that has a balanced budget, that has lowered the number of government workers and is the triving job generating engine of this country...is not a serious candidate? LOL
If Romney is the GOP candidate, Obama will win the election.
If Romney is the nominee BHO will win and America loses.
If Romney is the winner, America still loses, he is no different politically and has already stated he WANTS to work with democrats.
Either one of these guys America is screwed.
Jim Thune and Haley Barbour were two I would have liked to have seen throw their hats in the ring.
Mitt Romney's money scared away a lot of qualified candidates. Even with 24/7 fundraising, these candidates would be at a large financial disadvantage against someone who is willing to spend so much of his personal fortune.
From your fingers to God’s ears.
Prolly talking about Christie as the other “major candidate.”
