In a press release this afternoon, Club for Growth criticized Newt Gingrich for his attacks on Mitt Romneys career at Bain Capital, calling them unbecoming a Reagan Conservative. Club for Growths statement:
Yesterday, Gingrich said Those of us who believe in free markets and those of us who believe that in fact the whole goal of investment is entrepreneurship and job creation we find it pretty hard to justify rich people figuring out clever legal ways to loot a company, leaving behind 1,700 families without a job. Gingrichs attack was echoed that same day that by the Democratic National Committee, which also attacked Romney for his job creation record at Bain Capital.
Newt Gingrichs attacks on Mitt Romneys record at Bain Capital are disgusting, said Club for Growth President Chris Chocola. There are a number of issues for Mitt Romneys Republican opponents to attack him for, but attacking him for making investments in companies to create a profit for his investors is just wrong. Because of the efforts of Bain Capital, major companies like Staples, Dominos Pizza, and the Sports Authority now employ thousands of people and have created billions in wealth in the private economy. Attacking Governor Romney for participating in free-market capitalism is just beyond the pale for any purported Reagan Conservative. Newt Gingrich should stop his attacks on free markets and apologize to Governor Romney for them.
I'm not the one claiming to be able to work my into heaven and to someday become a "god"(s).
Saundra you can never stand before God and say "I didn't know", or "I was just a deceived victim" and beg for mercy.
You are a leader in the know and intentionally in on the coverup.
I'm glad you finally responded so everyone here reading can see that you are indeed so stumped by our referenced quotes that you just ignore them. Maybe you have never checked them for yourself...Are you more afraid of verifying truth than of spreading and defending the fraud IGNORANTLY (I was when I was in your shoes !).....This is a SURE SIGN of CULT BRAINWASHING !
Joseph Smith taught he was greater than Jesus Christ in a sermon where he lied about being a polygamist. Here is the refernced quote PROVE ME WRONG !
" "Come on! ye prosecutors! ye false swearers! All hell, boil over! Ye burning mountains, roll down your lava! for I will come out on top at last. I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet...When they can get rid of me, the devil will also go." (FLDS/LDS "Prophet" Joseph Smith, History of the Church, Vol. 6, p. 408, 409)
Perry has gotten in on the act too.
I have to agree with Rush Limbaugh on this. You’d think this was a socialist party primary.
I guess if it’s can actually help keep the nomination from Romney....but...it’s giving him the high ground.....I don’t like it.
Unfortunately it is the wrong argument. He is driving people to choose Romney at the last minute. 20-25% of all the primary voters are decided the day of the primary...
It was a really foolish move by Gingrich. He could have attacked Romney on healthcare...oh yeah he can’t do that he supported the individual mandate for 2 decades!!!
“but...its giving him the high ground.....I dont like it.”
I spoke with two people today who were sympathetic towards Mittens because of the attacks on him.
I just don’t know what to do anymore...
p.s. Rick Perry sucks.
One SAFE rule of thumb is that if you are using the same arguments as Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Rachel Maddow it's time to stop and re-calibrate.
This is just this more of the personality politics, meaning say anything no matter how contradictory or unprincipled it sounds as long as it serves the personality politics objectives. Some of them are the same people as 2 years ago, just change the personality.
We saw something similar Fall 2009 when some Republicans (some here too) decided a great way to hurt Obama was to declare any cuts to medicare equivalent to killing seniors and so the RNC made a public contract to oppose ANY medicare cuts.
Then Republicans take over House in 2011 (see it worked! ) and decide that they have a mandate to :
1) Only protect those over 55 from cuts to medicare
2) Those under 55 get to find an insurance company after they retire that wants to insure them instead of medicare paying the bills as it still would for those over 55 being ‘protected’ .
Then they couldn't believe when Democrats made a internet commercial showing Ryan throwing granny off a cliff. Only a liberal would make that association, right??? Then the Ryan plan just faded away. Ryan recently proposed a plan much better thought out than that first one.
Sometimes its good to actually believe in SOMETHING besides the personalities.
I’m not surprised, I didn’t think this line of attack would be effective in a Republican primary.
In the general election with Obama doing it would hurt him but Republican voters are in favor of capitalism.
I see one good thing about Rick Perry staying on the ballot in South Carolina. He’s aiming all his fire at Romney and he’s turned on his heavy artilery and flame thrower. With he and Gingrich gunning for Romney and Santorum now joining in and perhaps even Jon Huntsman sniping, Romney could be caught in a political cross fire that costs him the primary.
My ideal candidate: A boring conservative with no personality at all. I’m sick of personality.
Well Duh, maybe they believe in something besides the personalities...
Newt was on the Morning Joe yesterday and was asked about his talking points on this issue and he said that since Obama and Democrats would attack Romney on this(they already are Newt), it is his (Newts) job to to bring this out now. There is some truth to what he said, MSNBC and other progressives harp on this now, and Obama is making references to it too.
But Newt is being vetted too and him playing marxist Obama surrogate is not going to do much to convince capitalism believing conservatives that he has changed much since he teamed up with Pelosi on Climate Change. If anything I would think it helps Santorum who responded to this with "No. I won't join in. I believe in capitalism"
AL SHARPTON: I`ve got to give Willard credit. There`s one thing he`s got at doing, and that`s making money. The problem for him is it`s coming back to haunt him.
.... Here`s the now infamous picture of Willard during his time at private equity firm Bain Capital. This week we`re learning he`s still making millions from Bain. Under his retirement deal Willard got up to $13 million from Bain in the last year alone. But Willard does not want us to know much. Today he repeated his refusal to release his tax returns.
......Meanwhile, the Associated Press has uncovered more details about some of the jobs Bain cut in the `90s. Under Bain`s control, a photo album company opened and closed a South Carolina factory where 150 people were laid off. But Bain made $22 million from the company. A great deal for Willard, not so great for the 150 people who lost their jobs.

I suppose...
We need to see if Romney can handle the Tsunami that will be coming his way on this issue before he becomes the nominee.
This election is about jobs, jobs, jobs, and the last thing we need is someone who can't back up his claims to be the best choice in this area. In fact we need to make sure it won't be an albatross. Asking questions about Romney's record is something that needs to be done before he's the nominee.
Today, Romney made the claim that his years at Bain capital were no different than what President Obama did with the car companies. Romneynomics = Obamanomics and Romneycare = Obamacare. That's no way to win an election.
Meanwhile here's Al Sharpton back in December talking like Newt prior to Newt saying it: #192
Having an effect lol...actually Gingrich is running a lot of Pro Life and Romney anti 2nd Amendment in SC.
Gingrich pulls to tie of Romney in SC....Santorum no bounce fading to distant 3rd place.

It’s Romney and Gingrich in SC and Florida.
Go Newt!
When lawerence o donnell thinks you are great, just dang!!
Not really on the marxist side. Romney has been running around bragging that because of his private sector experience he understands better than anyone how to create jobs. It appears he didn't have a great record as governor in that area and several newspapers have questioned the number of jobs he created and some of the decisions he made.
It is absolutely appropriate to ask Mitt to document his record and explain any questionable decisions that might come up in the general election. The media is not going to vett him much till he is the nominee. GOP establishment won't let the primary voters know any glitches they might know of.
So it is up to the candidates to vett each other. Asking Romney to explain his record about what has been called controversial management decisions is absolutely fair game. This is about questioning Romney and not at all about attacking capitalism.
The hysterical reaction by LSM and their framing the issue as an attack on capitalism and talking about bad mad Newt is just another Alynski tactic to protect their preferred candidate. I personally think that Romney is less electable than any one else. His selection as the nominee probably means four more years of Obama.
Good luck. Sandy is a Romney supporter. I suspect it has much to do with the fact they are both Mormon, since her past conservative behavior is directly contrary to Mitt’s policies.
Hey Sandy, did you see my new tagline?
