Newt Gingrich opened the Sunday morning GOP debate by going on the attack against Mitt Romney, taking the bait in a question from moderator David Gregory by delivering a lengthy denunciation of Romneys record and economic platform.
I think what Republicans have to ask is whos most likely to survive in the long run against President Barack Obama, Gingrich said.
Gingrich called Romney a a relatively timid Massachusetts moderate who even The Wall Street Journal said had an economic plan so timid it resembled Obama and noted that during Romneys administration, Massachusetts was fourth from the bottom in job creation.
I just think theres a huge difference between a Reagan conservative and somebody who comes out of the Massachusetts culture, Gingrich said......

It’s about time. Last night was another missed opportunity when some people at least were actually watching. If no one convinces those who aren’t political junkies that he’s not the right choice, Romney is going to end up being the nominee. Newt is the only one who can effectively attack Romney, and he’d better start doing it instead of wasting time fighting with Ron Paul.
True. But to say that in New Hampshire, just before the NH primary was perhaps not wise. Unless you've decided you can't win in NH, and are playing to a different audience.
I am glad Newt is tearing into Romney, they all need to be doing that. This said, I don’t want Newt either, I hope everybody ganging on Romney creates an opportunity for Santorum or Perry.
Newt just needs to tear Romney a new one in South Carolina, no holds bared dirty to the core ads that utterly destroy Romney forever, because that's what it's going to take.
Nice guys finish last.
What many people have been calling whining and angry I call setting the record straight and fighting back.
To me, these are Newt’s most appealing qualities and what sets him above the pack. I do not not want to go down to Obama again with another squeemish, whimpy clown like McCain who refused to take the battle to the man. No more eight years of Bush refusing to take on his critics.
The MSM has being trying to emasculate the Right for years. Anytime a Republican gets their back up they say it is “not Presidential”. Not buying it. Never will.
Newt is the only guy willing to take on both the MSM and Obama with the truth. Every time he does he get HUGE applause.
No more wimps!
hey I agree, I want Newt to set the record straight, and I also want him to go so negative on Romney the TV’s in South Carolina start to bleed.
Remember how Bush destroyed McCain in South Carolina? black baby out of wedlock and such stories? that’s the kind of fight I want to see against Romney going forward. No holds bared fight to the death.
This video was mentioned during the debates both yesterday and today:
I’m curious. Was this morning a “debate” where the candidates were separate from each other? Last night, someone suggested that Gingrich is good at attacking people when they aren’t there, but then goes soft when they are with them.
This certainly sounds like a good attack.
Yeah, it was the same format as last night. Difference being that the moderator was more instigating, and sheltered Romney a lot less. So, Romney got knocked around a bit for a change.
“Remember how Bush destroyed McCain in South Carolina? black baby out of wedlock and such stories? thats the kind of fight I want to see against Romney going forward. No holds bared fight to the death.”
That’s what it will take to unseat FUBO, so Newt might as well start sharpening his game on Romney’s a$$! Roberts Rules of Order may be O.K. in the Senate, but the Presidential Campaign is bloodsport so it needs to be game on with Romney lest we get him and his limp dick manner ( and philosophy) as our “current It’s my turn candidate!”
