if Perry is the most conservative, he isn’t running away with this.

Perry was honest in Iowa about Ethanol

I think all of the candidates have said they are against Obamacare, have they not? Not sure about Huntsman, he may have, but I’m pretty sure all the rest have said they’re against it.

Santorum's answer accusing Obama of dividing the Country by "class" was one of the best statements of the debate, encompassing an overiding difference between him and Obama based on fundamental conservative principles, not "little things".

It was one of the best statements, but he was letting himself get dragged into spats with other candidates too much and that is the "little things" that hurts him. Duking it out with Ron Paul wins him no fans.

“I’ve spent a lifetime in Texas and I KNOW Perry is conservative.”

I’ve spent half of a lifetime here in Texas...perhaps we’re talking about different people. To me, Perry is the following:

1) Gardasil
2) Trans-Texas Corridor
3) Texas DREAM Act
4) No appraisal cap reform
5) No Illegal crackdown (as in AZ)
6) No E-Verify
7) Judge problem that may cost us 4 House seats
8) Islam coddling - as in Aga Khan
9) Texas Technology (slush) fund
Just a few off the top of my head.

On the plus side he has not screwed up the economy. He was given a healthy state with a good state constitution and good laws, and pretty much kept out of trying to manage it. That was fine with Texas - that’s not the case with Washington. We someone that can actually DO SOMETHING.

They want to portray Repubs as bigots and homophobes.

Why, because most American's see homos as a twisted deviant perversion?

Do you feel we should be supporting this behavior?

Ha! You left out Gingrich’s remark included Obama,

So I guess Gingrich WAS talking to someone going to be on the Ballet.

As far as Newt being able to get at Romney, The media, who isn’t on the ballet, didn’t give Newt a chance. They never let him talk directly after Romney and then didn’t give him much air time.

But when he got time... WOW did he knock it out of the park.

Go Newt!

Because everyone knows it won’t be returned. A social welfare program has never bene overturned in the nation’s history. The Democrats will filibuster any attempt to overturn it. So unless we win 60 votes in the Senate, that bill is going to stay in place.

Our only hope of killing it is the Supreme Court.

“When does Ron Paul get vetted?”

He only gets vetted if he wins the Republican nomination. He doesn’t get vetted if he runs third party, unless he starts pulling more votes from a Democrat (which won’t happen if a liberal like Romney or Perry get the nomination).

Yes, they have all given statements that they are against Obamacare. Romney’s words ring hollow. Michelle has led the fight and is out of the race. I have no hope left.

nut bag Paul reminds me of a confused old frail man.

The man should nto be allowed to rub on a GOP ticket as he is not republican nor conservative.

Let him use the libertarian ticket.

"Perry was honest in Iowa about Ethanol."

Great point!

Perry shoots straight about a LOT of stuff; and some folks just don't like to hear it.

Santorum is too focused on the little things. It’s hard to tell how much was Santorum and how much was the moderators, but Santorum seemed to want to fight Paul more than maybe he should have. If Santorum took every little spat he had with Paul and had instead used that time to attack Obama, I think it would have served him better.
<

I didn’t catch much of the debate, maybe the last 20 minutes. But what I saw of it, I liked in his performance.
His slamming of Paul not only slammed Paul, but clarified his own position as well so it was two fold at the same time. Much needed since Paul has been running a very negative campaign against everyone of the republicans on line hard.

I thought (again from the limited time i saw Santorum) that he did very well and put him right behind Newt.

I don’t think that Newt will do well in the polls at this point though. Just hoping that Paul will be destabilized a bit and taken down a notch. His Paulbots are really hurting the party bad IMO. Especially if they go independent as they are threatening.

Romney may get the nod yet, but if Santorum can hang tight in second, here he may yet pull it out. He seemed to have the where with all.

“I believe 100% that the MSM wants Romney to get the nomination because of his baggage. They would interview every person they could find that worked at a company that was bought and gutted by Bain, they would interview Romney’s relatives in Mexico, they would look at the lack of military service in the Romney family, they would look at his dad, they would look at his religion, they would make sure everybody knows who Warren Jeffs is and try and make the association with Mormons, etc. etc. “

That is 100% true.

Rush has complimented all the candidates except Paul.

Yes, I would agree. Although, if he's complimented Huntsman I think I've missed hearing it. The argument is whether or not Rush has ever said that Perry is the most conservative of the candidates. He's never said that.
