Obama: The Mask is Off
American Thinker ^ | January 6, 2012 | Steve McCann

The mask is fully off. Barack Obama is the most corrupt, power-mad president in this nation's illustrious history. By his actions in bypassing Congress and making appointments that should be subject to Senate approval while the Senate is still in session and innumerable extra-constitutional actions since he became president, he is following in the footsteps of the despots who dominated the 20th century.

In late September of 2008, it became clear to me that Barack Obama would be elected president. Based on his background, education, motivation, and indoctrination, I saw a man who could single-handedly destroy the country and someone with no respect for the history, the Constitution, or the people of the United States. The specter of a megalomaniac who was a stranger to the truth and would or say or do anything to achieve or retain power overcame me. In Barack Obama and his fellow travelers, I saw what I feared the most since I came to this country: a person and a political mindset that would, if allowed, spell the end of the noblest experiment in the history of mankind.

It was at that point that I wrote my first article for American Thinker in an attempt to warn the people of America that the result of the 2008 election would be critical to the nation's survival. This was the first column I had written since my college days over 40+ years before, and I am eternally grateful to AT for publishing it and giving me a forum to speak to the American people.

I had to survive a war that was precipitated by those who were initially elected by the people in a democratic fashion. Yet once in power, they began to systematically usurp and overthrow the rule of law. Their lust for power ...

...”The sound of silence comming from Republicans in Congress is also disgusting”...

They are more interested in their own security than in saving the country..It is time for statesmen and women to speak in bold language understandable to the masses, not using terms only familiar within the government establishment. The time for veiled truth has passed..It is time now for unvarnished truth coming from many corners of our society..It is out there..People are just afraid.

...”In this; only ONE candidate ‘gets it’. His name is Newt”...

You are so right but dumbed down America doesn’t admire and respect knowledge and insight into what keeps us free. Were our forefathers perfect in their personal lives..NO! Will anyone out there ever be such that a corrupt media could not find or make up something about that person to ruin them? NO..You have to look at the whole life and the whole person and by all means, assess who their enemies are. That will tell you the most about their character. I do not believe this will be changed in any way short of God’s hand or war..The corrupt are too violent and threatening for a morally rudderless society to look up and say, “Enough,” and they are in charge. I ask myself every day whether we are already under a dictatorship. I really don’t know..The next few months will tell us whether we are headed to become like Venezuela.

Just wait till he cancels the election and rules by decree. Most will do nothing—as long as American Idol is on and things look like they are OK. Look to see a crisis come along—like a war with Iran or a Stock Market Crash.

Great analysis. But being Obama, he probably will be allowed to have it both ways.

I think Obama’s recent moves are born of desperation-to get re-elected.

Follow the money.

He was willing to break the law to put Cordray in place. Why?

Because what’s coming is precisely what community organizers do. The non-bank money services industry, pay-day loans, check cashing, title loans, buy-here-pay-here auto dealers, pre-load debit cards and other sub-prime money services are booming. They are booming because of the heavy regulation now on banks via Dodd-Frank. The shakedown of this industry is begun with this appointment.

Look for this industry to be villified and threatened into “donating” to the Obama campaign. They know what’s coming, the threats have already been leaked to them. Protection money is on the way as we speak.

The NLRB appointments have the same goal in mind.

It’s all about the fact that donations are down, way down. And the shakedown will work.

All well and good, but who steps up and challenges the appointment? Versailles on the Potomac is filled with gutless wonders calling themselves Republicans. And that includes all the TEA Party candidates we all worked so hard to elect.

The fix is in; the BOHICA Party rules America. And it is only going to get worse. Does anybody really think ANY of the present candidates will change ANYTHING?

Me, I expect an invitation to Club Gitmo any day. Hope I can Get oOut Of Dodge soon enough.

And our Congress does nothing. Once again they forfeit more of their responsibility to the administration.

Obama is attempting to pick a fight with congress - the House Republicans in particular. While the recess appointment flap is an impeachable offense there’s little chance of getting him removed before the election. Still, the process needs to start. I suggest that a good first step would be to impound the monies budgeted for this appointee’s new department. That would focus the argument on this specific violation of the law.

Can he be taken to court over it?

Given the way the federal courts have been tip-toeing around the presidential-eligibility suits I think that it's fair to assume that they will rule that you "have no standing" to bring such a lawsuit. The courts have been treating the citizenry as mere subjects. It has become more apparent since Obama took the Whitehouse.

He is trying to desensitize America, with numerous acts that don’t individually rise to the level of “high crimes.” And he’s succeeding.
From running without having credentials and actively hiding them, to this latest offense, it’s all of a piece.
People (including many people here at FR) don’t realize how serious a problem we have in Barack Obama and in the state of a nation that would raise him to high office.
Predictions: chaos from Occupy during the election year. In November, BOHICA (Barack Obama, Here It Comes Again). In 2013 a new Constitutional Convention and a couple of SCOTUS retirements or fatalities while we’re waiting for our new constitution — meanwhile the old one will be declared null.

I ask myself every day whether we are already under a dictatorship.

Of course we are ready. It has recently become quite apparent that even conservatives are susceptible to idol worship. Personality trumps all. No experience? Great! Then we can infer whatever qualities we want to see, project conservatism or competence or genius on the blank screen. A politician has only to claim he "can do," and recite the credo we want to hear, and we believe.

Yeah, many think he's stupid. A big mistake, even if he is. Do not underrate your opponent. I feel they have a templte based on history. Here's an example of what I'm talking about. This is from "The Revolution Was" by Garet Garrett written in 1938 and it is on FDR's New Deal:

Having passed this crisis, the New Deal went on from one problem to another, taking them in the proper order, according to revolutionary technique; and if the handling of one was inconsistent with the handling of another, even to the point of nullity, that was blunder in reverse. The effect was to keep people excited about one thing at a time, and divided, while steadily through all the uproar of outrage and confusion a certain end, held constantly in view, was pursued by main intention.

The end held constantly in view was power. In a revolutionary situation mistakes and failures are not what they seem.

They are scaffolding. Error is not repealed. It is compounded by a longer law, by more decrees and regulations, by further extensions of the administrative hand. As de Lawd said in The Green Pastures, that when you have passed a miracle you have to pass another one to take care of it, so it was with the New Deal. Every miracle it passed, whether it went right or wrong, had one result. Executive power over the social and economic life of the nation was increased. Draw a curve to represent the rise of executive power and look there for the mistakes. You will not find them. The curve is consistent.

Read it all here

OBAMA CANNOT HAVE IT BOTH WAYS.

YES HE CAN!

At least as long as Senator Mumbles and Representative Cry Me a River is what passes for Republican “leadership”...

At least he wasn’t as corrupt as those racists that wanted to invade Mexico and South America after the Civil War and enslave them so they could expand their rebel empire of slavery

Sorry to "fundamentally disagree" but the Republicans are no different from the Democrats.

They are equally as guilty of abdication and "ruling class syndrome", call it treason or what ever, they have done nothing but capitulate to the will of "he who must not be named"

to retain their power, they can not and will not move against each other.....

they may bluster and wail, but in the end they will acquiesce so long as they retain the power they have, not by constitutional standards, but by pure greed.

The shame not only comes from them, and the military whom waits for their scraps (Leadership) but to each of Americas legal voters for not holding their elected officials collective feet to the fire.

One hundred years ago, (I would submit) most of those in DC would have been tried and convicted of treason for the crap they are pulling now.
