A very clear and concise explanation of the situation, Lmo56. They will try to spin the situation to Obama’s position (Jay Carney already has by saying the Senate was not in session. He said to go down to the Capitol and see if anyone is there.), but your explanation makes it very clear that they were NOT in session.

What is making my blood boil as much as Obama’s disregard/defiance of the Constitution is the silence from the Republicans. I am hoping that a lot is going on behind the scenes and we just aren't hearing about it.

My father survived fascism then too, but he’s slipping away now down the Alzheimer’s path so can’t draw the parallel like McCann. I see it. I saw it coming, potentially, too, as most of you did. As rush Limbaugh did when he hoped fervently that Obama would fail.

And when he so hoped, the media drew in their putrid breaths and spent days excoriating not the one who usurped the office and tricked the voters but the one who feared like Benjamin Franklin that we might lose our republic.

Did Barack Obama love or hate the parents who abandoned him, the grandparents who were stuck with him, the communist mentor who abused him? Did he love or hate the country all of his people hated? We will never know, but surely the simplest facts of his background, the few we are allowed to know, point to a person in whom the trust of our highest office is greatly mistaken. And every move he’s made for three years reflects that; each is the fulfillment of his earliest handlers, those who were delighted to use our own political correctness to get into our White House through the front door instead of a bomb attack.

Think Newt could do it. He has alrady offered that he would have John Bolton in his Cabinet. Tough Leadership; for starters; and there would be more to come. We can count on it; if we get the chance that is.

Barack Obama is the most corrupt, power-mad president in this nation's illustrious history. By his actions in bypassing Congress and making appointments that should be subject to Senate approval while the Senate is still in session and innumerable extra-constitutional actions since he became president, he is following in the footsteps of the despots who dominated the 20th century.

My latest post on little bammys Narcissistic Personality Disorder was just a week ago but I have been watching him get worse for almost two years now.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2826583/posts?page=19#19

For convenience, I am reposting...

WTF is wrong with this man? Hardly a week goes by lately that he doesn’t issue some sort of in-your-face edict for no other purpose than provocation. Is he deliberately looking for a confrontation with the citizenry?

I started saying he was getting worse about 18 months ago. Back then it was one FU 2 America per month or two.

Now? One or two a week.

I observed he was getting worse because of the layers of isolation due to being President. There is no negative feedback to his Narcissistic personality disorder, therefor he will spiral down the toilet until there is nothing left to his delusional construct of his perceived "reality."

He will believe all are cheering as he declares the election process defective and states "he can't wait for Congress to act" as he suspends it and "that he was ordering a review of alternate electoral processes in the interest of fairness to historically oppressed minority voters."

For those that doubt the possibility of such actions by The Won, consider this...

Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance and a deep need for admiration. Those with narcissistic personality disorder believe that they're superior to others and have little regard for other people's feelings. But behind this mask of ultra-confidence lies a fragile self-esteem, vulnerable to the slightest criticism.

Narcissistic personality disorder is one of several types of personality disorders. Personality disorders are conditions in which people have traits that cause them to feel and behave in socially distressing ways, limiting their ability to function in relationships and in other areas of their life, such as work or school.

Symptoms
By Mayo Clinic staff

Narcissistic personality disorder is characterized by dramatic, emotional behavior, which is in the same category as antisocial and borderline personality disorders.

Narcissistic personality disorder symptoms may include:

Believing that you're better than others
Fantasizing about power, success and attractiveness
Exaggerating your achievements or talents
Expecting constant praise and admiration
Believing that you're special and acting accordingly
Failing to recognize other people's emotions and feelings
Expecting others to go along with your ideas and plans
Taking advantage of others
Expressing disdain for those you feel are inferior
Being jealous of others
Believing that others are jealous of you
Trouble keeping healthy relationships
Setting unrealistic goals
Being easily hurt and rejected
Having a fragile self-esteem
Appearing as tough-minded or unemotional

Although some features of narcissistic personality disorder may seem like having confidence or strong self-esteem, it's not the same. Narcissistic personality disorder crosses the border of healthy confidence and self-esteem into thinking so highly of yourself that you put yourself on a pedestal. In contrast, people who have healthy confidence and self-esteem don't value themselves more than they value others.

And this visibly mentally ill poofter is sitting in the WH, finger on the button, looking at total humiliation in the upcoming election with THAT diagnosis... N.P.D.

Kinda chilling, huh?

Yeah, that’s great. Wait and see whether Newt - or any other candidate, for that matter - will do anything to set this country back on its course.

Between now and November, that will give 0bambi a thousand opportuities to overthrow the Constitution. Who knows, we may not even have an election. He might just decide that he needs to stay in power, for the good of the country. What’s going to keep him from dissolving the Congress because they don’t do anything?

NO, most emphatically NO, the time is now. If this goes unchallenged; there is only one course.

The truth is, he comes by it honestly. There is no way not to mess a child up by having an absent AND uninterested father (a military dad who loves you is not at all the same), a mother who abandons you, a gramps who takes you along to seedy places and a commie mentor who rapes you.

Thought the question was 'who'; not when; but certainly the lead can be taken on the Campaign trail; but Media - and citizens - have to demand redress. Obama knows just how safe he is; they know America's 'resistance' is at an all-time low.

Will say; if Newt were to win; there would be 'clean sweeps' and immediate accountability;for the Obama travesties.

But yes; yesterday a squeek or two of criticism; some outrage; (including McCain); but seems, today. . .a new day; albeit a bad one.

Rush IS hammering it, however. . .

One thing certain; Obama is loving his 'muscle flexing'; his 'in our white face' power opportunism'. . . and for rest of term; it may well be his most occupying endeavor. Next to his golf game, that is.

Venezuela; a very real possibility. Obama admires China a great deal as well; particularly the Maoist MO’s/elements.

My New Year’s Resolution for 2012 is to finish up (as best I can) preparations for the Troubles ahead. Finalize food, water, ammo, garden supplies, etc.

This is only the first week in January and already we’re chest-deep in trouble! We’ve stood by while our “elected class” has driven us into the ground and now we’ve got troubles that might, just might, be too big for us to fix short of burning it all down and starting over.

I hate to sound paranoid, but I don’t think we’re going to make it to Election Day (if they still allow us to vote) without some serious “headlines” to consider.
