RUSH: Well, Michele Bachmann pulled the plug and I'm gonna miss her. I am. I'm really going to miss Michele Bachmann. She had a direct way of speaking. In her presser today, in her press conference where she announced she was pulling out, she said this might be the last election to turn around before we go down the road to socialism, and you could hear the journalists in the room practically gasp. They could not believe what they were hearing, the last election that we have to turn around before we go down the road to socialism.

RUSH: I want you to hear Michele Bachmann. This is just a portion. She was in West Des Moines, Iowa, today when she pulled out, she held a press conference. This was a portion of her speech that I referenced when she talked about we got one election left, perhaps, before we go down the road to socialism.
BACHMANN: I mean what I say and I say what I mean and I've told you the truth that our country is in very serious trouble and that this might be the last election to turn the nation around before we go down the road to socialism to a burden of debt too heavy for our children to bear, and I didn't tell you what the polls said that you wanted to hear.
RUSH: She gave a good speech. It's interesting. Oftentimes a candidate's best speech is the sayonara speech. Did you ever notice that? The best speech is when they're getting out, the pressure's off, you can be who you really are. I don't know what's so hard about being who you really are during the process, but somehow when nothing's at stake it's easier. Well, I think it's fear. I think fear is what changes everybody and when you're getting out there's nothing to fear. But when you're still in it you fear making a mistake, you fear saying something you shouldn't say, so you get guarded. But there is no fear when you've decided to exit the race, and so you don't have that roadblock and you're more forthcoming. I don't think it is anything other than human nature. I don't think it says something bad or good about anybody. It's just it's human nature.

Good for her. She did the right thing to stop Romney. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of her either.
Perry should follow suit, unless he wants to be a Romney enabler.
If I was a reporter instead of gasping I would have asked, “Congresswomen Bachmann, will a Mitt Romney Presidency reverse the course to socialism?”
“Good for her. She did the right thing to stop Romney. I dont think weve seen the last of her either.”
I should hope not! She’s young and she’ll be back.
Michele would be a great choice.
I definitely think she’ll be back. She has proved to be a classy lady.
I really can’t understand why she didn’t do better. Maybe it was the way she attacked Romney and Paul that made her sound like a domestic nightmare to a lot of men. That should not have been an issue, if it was because she is as smart as any of the group and probably the most steadfast in pursuing conservative ideals.
To which she should reply that only a moron would have believed rumors of ties between she and Romney.
Yes those people are about as bright as your standard occutard.
Girls that whine and bitch and moan are born losers. Michelle is such a girl
Good riddance
Bachmann’s and Perry’s supporters shouild coalesce behind Santorum or Gingrich to stop the Marble Man - Romney.
Even though I’m for Santorum, I’m going to miss Bachmann in the race. I hope she gets chosen for VP, or for a cabinet position. She’s smart, passionate about this country, and very well spoken. We could do worse.
She is right.
I have been hard on Michele for her attacks on fellow candidates, but I want to state publically for the record that I am VERY PROUD of her for what she did today, putting the country ahead of her own personal ambition. Let me be the first to call her a PATRIOT.
BTW, if she had given the speech she gave today instead of attacking Perry over Gardisil and Cain over 9-9-9 and “Newt Romney” she might still be in the race. She was on the money today.
I do hope that whoever gets the nomination and gets elected will do what she promised if she wins and repeal 0bamaCare
I just realized that the scroll bars on the left do make a difference.
Please, “miss” her, what are we in 8th grade ?
The way she attacked Romney and Paul was nothing compared to how she mopped the floor with Perry in that debate: Accused him of abusing Executive Orders, for the purpose of forcing “little girls” to take risky vaccinations, all for a lousy $5,000.00 campaign contribution!
She bowed out gracefully, not like a sore loser
Look no further than post 9.
Some people are completely incapable of getting past appearances. Like those who complain about Rick Santorum's facial expressions.
Here we are, a nation on the brink, and instead of listening to what a candidate is saying all they are able to focus on is the sound of their voice.
