POLITICO's Ginger Gibson reports:
Newt Gingrich still won't congratulate Mitt Romney for winning the Iowa caucuses.
At a news conference in Concord, N.H., Gingrich was asked by CBS correspondent Dean Reynolds why he congratulated Rick Santorum but not Romney.
Gingrich stared at the reporter and raised his eyebrows in silence, eventually drawing laughter from some of the reporters. "Because I know you would be a man of great professionalism, I know that's a rhetorical question. And a good one," Gingrich said.
During his speech in Des Moines last night, Gingrich visibly seethed at mention of Romney, who along with his supporters ran a barrage of attack ads against the former speaker. Romney said he'd spoken with every GOP rival last night except Gingrich.

Newt should say I hearby give Santorum 9 of my votes. BWHAHAHAHAH. You are loser Willard.
A psychedelic nightmare for that “teddy”bear!
Lovely pic. saved.
Should he? He can be civil; and is; but must he congratulate; Mitt and by association; his campaign; which did an ‘all time’ smear of Newt?

I think you meant to post to someone else...
Yes, you’re right. Tribune7, I think, just before LUV W’s post.
Yes, I catch him only now and then myself. But glad to know you agree that claiming all the ads against Newt were “lies” was patently ridiculous!
Santorum, yes; Newt, NO
I was very surprised to hear Hannity come out and say it was a “lie” that Gingrich is for amnesty.
There may be a disagreement as to whether Gingrich’s policy proposal technically constitutes “amnesty,” but so what? That doesn’t make ads stating that Gingrich would allow illegal immigrants to remain in the U.S. in some circumstances is not true.
I disagree, because you are using a technical definition of amnesty and that’s not how the issue plays out in the public debate.
The bottom line is that Gingrich does propose to allow some illegal immigrants to stay in the U.S. and get a “path to legality,” which, apart from his policy, will make them eligible to seek citizenship.
That is all.
If Newt can’t handle another politician trashing him, he’s in the wrong business. It comes with the territory.
Newt ought to handle this like an adult, not an offended child.
Thats the spirit.
The entire Nation went feel-goodie over Obama and now we see what that feeling brought us. There seems to be a steak of conscience in this Nation that even the Devil has to be treated kindly and respectfully. I believe that devious behavior is not to be rewarded by gracious posturing.
Politics is for adults only and Newt knows better.
When the Liberal WAPO review gives Romney’s ads 4 Pinocchio’s that tells you something about those ads
I like the Chaney approach when he told Leahy to GO BLEEP YOURSELF
Well we are going to see how Romney handles getting trashed big time in the coming weeks
How would Gingrich handle the negative campaigning that Obama would hit him with? What he’s encountering now is a cake walk compared with what Obama will throw at him. He’s looking like a mean-spirted, whining, complaining, sourpuss. Can’t take a punch? It’s all so unfair. Boo hoo.
