Occupier targets police officer
Fox 23 News ^ | 12/30/2011 | Reported by: Paul Merrill

Posted on 01/03/2012 2:35:01 PM PST by Fitzy_888

The wanted poster asks for Albany Police Officer Richard Gorleski's address, phone numbers, and email address as well as a map to his home and a picture of it.

Occupy Albany member Bradley Russell admits he made the poster and posted it on Facebook.

"I have made no threats and I don't want any threats made," Russell tells FOX23 News. "I have no intention of going after this man. On the other hand, if a peaceful drum circle were to show up at his house one day and protest his actions individually [...] I think that would be a legitimate kind of shaming."

Russell also posted pictures showing him both before and after he was pepper sprayed at Albany's Academy Park on December 22nd.

Russell takes issue with the police department's account that protesters tried to grab at a mounted officer's reigns.

"Nobody was pulling him," Russell says. "Nobody was touching him. Nobody was going for his reigns and I was right there."

Russell says Officer Gorleski was out of line.

"He was enraged," says Russell. "He had lost control."

Other Occupiers are quick to point out that Russell does not speak for the entire group but they understand why he's upset.

Occupier Colin Donnaruma tells us, "I think that the real question isn't what poster did someone make but why did a police officer ride into a peaceful crowd shooting pepper spray and injuring non-violent protesters who were out there in the middle of a political speak-out."

Albany Police stand by their actions and condemn the postings.

"It's reprehensible that they would target one individual because they're unhappy about the outcome last Thursday," says Officer James Miller, spokesman for Albany's Department of Public Safety.

Police across the Hudson River are involved too because they say Officer Gorleski's parents have been getting phone calls at their Troy home.

Captain John Cooney says there haven't been any threats or criminal activity but there was malice in the Facebook posts.

"By attaching the word 'wanted' and asking for photos of his home and the home address to be listed out there to what's become a very radical group in some ways - that's crossing the line," says Captain Cooney.

Bradley Russell is an adjunct professor at the College of Saint Rose and the college says he will be teaching there next semester.

When reached on his cell phone on Friday afternoon, Officer Gorleski declined to comment.

Russell's controversial postings have been taken off Occupy Albany's Facebook page.

These leftards have made it clear that they want a battle. Hope they really understand what they’re asking for.

I wonder how ol’ Bradley would feel if some unknown parties post his personal information on a wanted page?

Sauce for the gander ... sauce for the goose.

Be a real shame if a few of his teeth came up missing. But I’m not suggesting anything by that.

What he has already chosen to display on his LinkedIn (very public) page already identifies him as an over-credentialed imbecile. “Permament” indeed. Maybe he can go back for a J-school degree and work at the Fox affiliate that published the article, as an editor for the reporter who writes about seizing the mounted officer’s “reigns”.

He conflates having expended a huge sum of his personal and the public’s treasure in acquiring said credentials with a right to throw a tantrum over the fact that he is incapable of realizing a return on said investment. This seems to be a defining characteristic of a large segment of the “Occupiers”.

I am admittedly at the far upper end of the 25 to 54 demographic. However, pretty much all of my colleagues who reside at the more junior end of the segment all agree that the “Occupiers” need to drop it, get a job and get a life.

Just because one spent a lot of geld getting a sheepskin in - what was it? Mayan Urbanism? - doesn’t mean one automatically gets ensconced in an endowed academic chair with salary, ivy, tweed and academic bullsh*t in perpetuity. I think the refusal to accept this fact is at the heart of the frustration of needle-d**k jerks like Adjunct Professor Bradley.

For all the money he spent (or borrowed) on those degrees think of the business he could have started employing a couple dozen people and providing useful services or products to hundreds or thousands of people. Not to mention all of the revenue for social programs (that you know he loves) that he could have generated. Instead ... nothin'.

“Postclassic Maya Settlement on the Rural Urban Fringe of Mayapán, Yucatán,...”

Rural Urban??? Which is it? Oxymoron, like jumbo shrimp?

I believe the cop stepping out on the porch with his pump shotgun might convince a drum circle to get off of his property.
