Solar Company Scraps Factory, Leaves Mich. in Dark
Grant applications don't match up with solar company's other information.

A San Jose-based company has pulled out of plans to build a multimillion-dollar solar cell factory in Saginaw, Mich.
GlobalWatt CEO Sanjeev Chitre blamed the shutdown on the poor economy and competition from overseas; however, many critics are wondering if there really was much of a factory to shut down. Far from a mega-factory promised in early paperwork, GlobalWatt's Saginaw operations actually employed slightly more than a dozen workers.
GlobalWatt promised the small Michigan town jobs in exchange for state and city tax credits potentially worth tens of millions of dollars. Paperwork publicized by the group Mackinac Center for Public Policy show GlobalWatt claimed Texas had offered the solar company a competing tax credit plan -- presumably to pressure Michigan into meeting or exceeding the offer. However, the center's fiscal director says "We [now] know that to be false."

Democrats have been gaming the system for many decades...
It is nothing new... as ALL government employees do...
saginaw is not a small town, and it is a hell hole similar to detroit and flint... i would not live there, let alone open up a factory.. however, go 20 miles in any direction except south, and it is real nice

Sanjeev Chitre, another crooked Indian ripping off Americans. He needs to go to jail like the Wall St. Indian did a few weeks ago. Just how long to we allow foreign crooks to set up shop here? Oh wait, we have a foreign crook as President.
More subsidized failure.
...and Tyrants!
Nothing in the article about getting federal funding. Must not have been an Obama bundler/supporter?
I hopse a few Republicans run some advertising ab out government WASTE using the hundreds of millions spent on battery cars, solar power companies...that are out of business!! THe “rats” could have used it for the Children...lol
Today's Baltimore Sun has an article in which the Chesapeake Bay foundation claims that federal regulations will create more than 200,000 jobs in construction and monitoring in the next 14 years. What it doesn't say is where the money will come from to pay for these projects, which do not add value, but add to costs for farmers, businessmen, etc. and for all taxpayers.
Maryland seems to be the test-case state for many extravagant government spending programs. The Dems get it through first in ultra-liberal MD and then try to take it nationwide.

Solar energy is a COMPLETE fiscal no-go, across the board, without government coercion.
Or, rich and abjectly moronic celebrities looking for a personal self-congratulatory “cause”.
Ping.
Who’s the Hollywood actor that flacked for the State of Michigan a year or so ago? Claimed that he had built a theater in Michigan and urged companies to come to Michigan to launch new businesses. I wonder how $much$ this solar scam outfit sucked out of the Michigan taxpayers’ veins before dropping the pretensions and hightailing it out of there?
Sanjeev Chitre...
Is that pronounced, “Cheater”?
Jeff Daniels

Evidently nothing since all the incentives were in proposed tax breaks.........
I suspect the real reason they left town was due to them not receiving any federal or state cash subsidies to get the business started. In other words, they were banking on the government to give them the cash to get started but it never happened.......
So how many Obozo bucks did they get?
