School Defends “Occupy” Song For 8-year-olds

A Virginia school district is defending a song allegedly written and performed by a group of third graders about the Occupy Wall Street movement that conservative bloggers are calling a form of indoctrination.
The song, “Part of the 99,” was performed by children at Woodbrook Elementary School in Albemarle County, Virginia.
A spokesman for the school system said as far as they were concerned there isn’t a controversy and called criticism of the program unfortunate.
“We really don’t censor the topics that students come up with,” school spokesman Phil Giaramita told Fox News & Commentary. “This is the first time we’ve had the lyrics of one of these songs criticized.”
The controversy surrounding the song was first reported by the Weasel Zippers website.
“They’re actually claiming third-grade children wrote these lyrics and chose the topic as well,” Weasel Zippers wrote. “Because what eight-year-old child isn’t obsessed with class warfare?”

Unless, of course, the topic is a prayer or wearing the American flag on some Mexican holiday.
It reads like Bruce Springsteen wrote it.
So, these kids, (many of whom still believe in Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy), are politcally astute enough to not only know who the "Occupy" movement is, what they stand for, but also understand their motivation? The arrogance of this liar is staggering ... yet, not a single reporter has had the courage to call this liar, a 'liar'. The 'kids' didn't write this song - the only songs kids at this age care about deal with Jingle Bells and relate to Batman.
Obviously the work of a 15 year old dumber-than-a-5th-grader pothead who only knows 3 chords.

Anyone out there still convinced that forceful resistance won’t be necessary to right this ship? yeah like I Believe for ONE second that 8 year olds even know what the Occupy Bowel Movement even is. My cousin is around the same age, all he cares about is Yu Gi Oh cards and XBOX games. This is indoctrination plain and simple

or “manmade global warming is a pile of polar bear crap” (I made up that last one, but would love to help a kid write lyrics)
So, on the one hand....
“The boys and girls worked with a facilitator to come up with a theme and lyrics for a song.”
While on the other hand.....
“Giaramita said he has no doubts that eight-year-old children could write such lyrics and denied that teachers might have influenced their song choice.”
So what did the “facilitator” do?
Except when they want to discuss Christmas or perhaps want to salute the flag,,,,,,,,,,,
