Media magnate Rupert Murdoch on Monday urged Iowans to back firebrand social conservative Rick Santorum, one day before they cast the first votes of the 2012 White House race.
"Can't resist this tweet, but all Iowans think about Rick Santorum. Only candidate with genuine big vision for country," Murdoch, 80, said on his official Twitter feed on the eve of the heartland state's nominating caucuses.
Santorum has surged into third place in recent days on the strength of his take-no-prisoners social conservative ideology and seemed poised for a strong finish in the largely symbolic first-in-the-nation ballot.

That’s how Santorum should have been doing it from the beginning. I’m glad to see he’s picked up his game.
Too bad he isn’t a fiscal conservative.
“Too bad he isnt a fiscal conservative.”
Don’t believe the propaganda. Santorum is a fiscal conservative. He supports a balanced budget amendment and reducing government spending.

Santorum for President Ping List. FReepmail Antoninus to be added or removed.
This is obviously being done to help Romney later get the nomination, by keeping Gingrich out.
If the race were to come down to Romney, Santorum and Paul, then Romney will win...... and THAT is what Fox is all about.
I’m sure he’s conservative enough and I do respect that but I think he stands no chance against Romney and even less than no chance against Obama. We better hope we take the senate because the Presidential election doesn’t look promising imho.
From Rick's campaign site.
"Senator Santorum fought to maintain fiscal sanity in Washington before it was in fashion, fighting for a balanced budget and a line item veto. He bravely proposed reforming entitlements, cutting spending and even developed a "spendometer" that added up the cost of Democrat amendments to spending bills. This record made him one of the most conservative senators in Pennsylvania's history."
What a wacky fiscal Liberal he is.
As far as I can see from his stump speeches, he is calling for cutting regulations, spending and taxes. He is a fiscal Conservative.
Too bad his network doesn’t listen to him
Their noses are so far up Romney’s butt they will need a team of proctologists to extract themselves
They can smell the Charles from their vantage point
Especially chief Mitt knee padders...Megan Kelly and Brett Baier and Herr Krauthammer
I like rick but his lifetime acu is lower than newts
I know that like polls, folks here hate those unless they support their position
We need to congeal an anti romney sooner more than later
Folks....
I am with you. I have no problem to see Santorum and family in the White House. I hope he wins if Sarah does not run.
You certainly agree with the Democrat/MSM propaganda.
They said Reagan stood no chance against Carter in 1980.
They said Reagan was alienating the neutral nations in the 1980’s and that Communism was the wave of the future and that America was isolated and unpopular.
They said McCain was the best nominee because he would appeal to moderates and independents.
They said the Tea Party and other conservatives were extremists who would alienate moderates and independents and cause the Republicans to lose big in 2010.
I have heard all the arguments before. They say a principled conservative can never get the votes of moderates and independents. An outsider who is not endorsed by the MSM can never win.
I don't believe it.
Rupert supported Hillary, than Obama, so this is at least a little more positive move on his part.
Unfortunately, if you’re from a north Eastern state, you can’t swing as far to the right as somebody from the south might.
Unless he’s a big-time spender, I would be willing to cut him some measure of slack.
Wow... This is an interesting twist.
Obama isn’t Carter and Santorum sure as hell isn’t Ronald Reagan. You go on disbelieving though.
He might be a liberal, but unlike Obama, he likes America and he's a capitalist. I'll give him that much.
Not sure where he stands, but Perry has a pretty funny ad attacking Santorum.

He has shown a tendency to swing both ways. And yes, he is a capitalist.
