Liberal talk show host Alan Colmes sunk to new a new low when he said on Fox News that former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum took his deceased baby home to 'play with it.'
Noting that the GOP has "speed-dated" every other candidate, Colmes said voters should "get a load" of what he called the "crazy things" Santorum has said and done.
"Like taking his two-hour old baby who died right after childbirth home and played with it for a couple hours so his other children would know it was real, I mean..."
At this point, Fox News contributor Rich Lowry tore into Colmes, calling his statement a "cheap shot."
Lowry lambasted Colmes for "mocking" the death of Santorum's child and said it was beneath the liberal talker, sometimes known as "Skeletor" among some conservatives

Things swing back and forth in a kind of dynamic equilibrium. Too well off, a people risk becoming spoiled. But God has mercy anyhow, even as a people suffers loss. Other, better things come back into focus.

Yes, a newborn is a "baked potato" and should just be discarded as if it never existed and a comment that was removed was never posted. Out of sight, out of mind.
If this “playing with it” phrase is Colmes’ invention and has nothing to do with the reality (like, did Santorum get the dog to lick its face or sumfin really off the wall?), Colmes ought to be horse whipped.
This will probably have a silver lining, though, in that it will bump Santorum’s public sympathy profile way up. Maybe if we get a President Santorum we can thank Colmes for it!

Could be. I’ve avoid this thread intentionally for the most part for personal reasons, but the post about applauding for rough language grabbed my attention.

I posted elsewhere for a fine boycott, certainly against Colmes, against FOX entirely and their advertisers until he IS fired. Then I got to thinking, no one watches FOX anymore, but barely, but maybe the Independents have wondered over there, from CNN. Since so many of us conservatives have left FAUX already, what to do? Work on the advertisers I think.
I do watch Greta once in awhile, but until this evening I haven’t myself even seen FOX for three weeks.
God’s good and mad at it, I’m pretty sure. Respects for the dead are part of any culture that hasn’t gotten so worldly that it has forgotten about the existence of another one. Let God take care of the consequences.

If Santorum gets to be the President, you can rest assured that I will not thank Colmes for it, but God does work in mysterious ways and uses the devil to do HIS work.

It has to happen at some point. They are pushing so hard in so many different directions that eventually there will be a devastating backlash. I dunno when, but it’s going to happen eventually.
I mean figuratively of course. Calling Colmes a douchebag is an insult to douchebags.

Everyone should watch this forum by most of the candidates on November 19th. At 1hr and 59 minutes Rick Santorum tells about his daughter who was born premature. She has Cerebellum 18 which he says is like Downs Syndrome only worse. He says the doctors told them she was going to die. After four days they took her home and asked for Oxygen for her. They had to fight the doctor but they finally got it. The baby did fine until about 5 months then she got pneumonia. She was taken to the ER. She got over the pneumonia and is still alive today at 3 1/2 years of age.
