(Liberal) Alan Colmes: Rick Santorum took dead baby home to 'play with it'
Examiner ^ | 1/2/2012 | Joe Newby,

Liberal talk show host Alan Colmes sunk to new a new low when he said on Fox News that former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum took his deceased baby home to 'play with it.'

Noting that the GOP has "speed-dated" every other candidate, Colmes said voters should "get a load" of what he called the "crazy things" Santorum has said and done.

"Like taking his two-hour old baby who died right after childbirth home and played with it for a couple hours so his other children would know it was real, I mean..."

At this point, Fox News contributor Rich Lowry tore into Colmes, calling his statement a "cheap shot."

Lowry lambasted Colmes for "mocking" the death of Santorum's child and said it was beneath the liberal talker, sometimes known as "Skeletor" among some conservatives

” What is the point of giving someone who is a loser - AND has no concept of appropriate behaviour- national airtime? “

Somebody got to Colmes, you suppose it was Ailes himself who was twittering favorably about Santorum today. Within hours of gnawing on his own foot for the entire globe to see, Colmes apologized to Rick Santorum.

This may mean he was at least teetering on the edge of unemployment or else. I know it is not enough, but Colmes either recognized he had stepped in it, or someone with influence informed him.

What made me mad at Hannity, was the defensive tone he used as he pointed out the Colmes apology, describing Colmes as his friend. Hannity may have been trying to help save his
“friend’s” job.

That certainly is a temptation, but the cable company is not at fault for what Colmes said. Trying to weigh my option of what kind of service I want. But that is a good idea.

I just will not watch FOX aka in german FUCH (very close) any longer.

To do a wake like this sure wouldn’t be “playing” with the body, though, no more than showing it in a funeral home would be. Is that just Colmes’ idea?

And that’s exactly the ‘backfire’ I’m talking about.

I was a Palin guy, then Cain. I never really considered Santorum. I am now and for this reason. Anyone that can evoke such a vile response from the left is a man I’d LOVE to vote for.

The fact that he’s very conservative besides certainly adds to that desire.

When a post is pulled, it is also removed from the poster’s ‘history’.

And someone with a 98 sign up date would know that. Mariner is being deliberately misleading in claiming his history is intact.

I'm aware of that, but apparently Mainer thinks because it's no longer in his history, he never said it.

“If anyone believes this would not, WILL NOT, destroy Santorum as a viable candidate for any office...they are not very knowledgeable in the political wars.”

Look up “Blowback” in your political dictionary.

Indeed. After I heard his wife had been a NICU nurse, as I am, in relation to this story, I told my husband Santorum had my vote. Rather someone that mourned the loss of his newborn than a jerk that put his dog on top of his car for a road trip or a multiple adulterer.

And the same to you, I know we both share those sweet memories. We cry still, we laugh at what we remember as the funny times, but we NEVER EVER forget the pain.

May the Lord always be with you and your family, and all those on this thread that have lost a child.

One of my favorite Hymns, "The Eastern Gate", that will certainly strike a chord with you.

And I can understand how some people might want a chance to say good bye to the body. When my own father passed, I was not there and I asked the hospital to let me say good bye to his body, which I did where it had been placed in a supply closet awaiting the funeral director. Not fancy, but it sufficed. Again that isn’t playing with it any more than it would be in a funeral home. I can see how Santorum would have been well nigh furious.

Odd that liberals also seem to think in terms like that. I wonder if there’s any connection?

Yes, I know. However Mariner won't take responsibility for the comment because it doesn't show up in his history. I was asking the mods to confirm it was his comment because he won't believe anyone else.

Thanks for an excellent explanation.

You are most welcome.

The rising general wealth of people of this country is a blessing from God but that wealth brings with it a challenge to remaining Godly.

I see that this affluence that has come to us in the US has cost us Family and Community. Some manage to fight and win the battle against the commercial onslaught and popular culture that war on family and community values but it is a hard battle and I fear the nation as a whole is loosing.

""""I know it is not enough, but Colmes either recognized he had stepped in it, or someone with influence informed him.""""

His apology is not enough. Never have I ever heard such a dispicable thing as Colmes said, never. He must be fired, and FOX needs to pay for their Failure to censure that devil before.

If, and I am sure Santorum will accept the apology, it is only by the GRACE of GOD that he CAN do so, but Colmes will never KNOW HOW Santorum is ABLE to forgive him.

Hey Colmes, here's a clue: Santorum, unlike you, is a Christian who has to forgive, but you would not understand that. Sorry for you sorry soul, but it is not to late for you, seek and you shall find.
