That 5.0 Ohio quake was on January 31, 198, three days after the Challenger. It was near the Perry nuke plant. Felt over a dozen or so states and part of Canada.
There actually was liquid injection into deep waste disposal wells.

If the 6.8 New Madrid quake of 1895 hit today, it would cause more damage than all of the California quakes since then combined. A lot of people live in that New Madrid red area.
It's not just the magnitude that counts. The area can be much more important. Kind of like a tornado compared to a hurricane.
That’s a scary map...
That’ll learn ‘em to vote for Obamao!
Lake County, far ne Ohio and felt nada.
Imagine the damage to the Midwest transportation infrastructure, bridges and pipelines especially.
Memphis would be severely damaged by a big one on the New Madrid fault.
Interesting. My animals starting acting up at time of quake. I felt not a thing.

PARMA! OXNARD! Earnie was never missed on my old set.He blew up one of my model cars!
Ohio bump
Greenwich Mean Time, currently five hours ahead of EST.
THAT was a real honor!
I got his autograph on a popcorn box at an Indians game. He threw out the first pitch at a game and then we found him in street clothes one section over from us. I got "Turn Blue!" and my buddy got "Stay Sick!"
Funny thing was that he spelled it "Goulardi" on both of our boxes but most other people put the 'h' in it. Here's a shirt with "Goulardi."
Oh man. I missed that even though I tried to stay awake for the first couple hours.
I didnt feel a thing and I’m about 2 hours south of Akron.
OMG.......... now that you mentioned your critters........
I looked out at my hens about that time and saw that 4 of the 6 were standing up against the coop with their heads tucked under their wings.
The other 2 were walking back and forth across their “run”, rapidly.
I thought it was hilarious but now come to think about it, I remember looking at the clock on the stove and IIRC about 4:03 pm.
Maybe that is what those hens were doing ?????? feeling the quake ~?
