Several more cars burned in suspected arson attacks in the Los Angeles area early Saturday morning, and authorities investigated if they were connected to nearly two dozen deliberately set blazes a day earlier, police said.
Seven or eight cars burned Saturday in the North Hollywood area, said officer Robert Collier.
He said he didn't have further details of the blazes, but said arson is suspected and there could be a link to the earlier blazes.

Flashback: France’s New Year’s Tradition: Car-Burning

For much of the world, they became iconic of France’s worst social ills: the burned-out carcasses of thousands of cars set ablaze during nearly three weeks of nationwide rioting in 2005. But as yet another orgy of automobile arson on Wednesday demonstrated, the torching of cars in France has not only become an everyday event; it’s also now a regular form of expression for disenfranchised suburban youths wanting to make sure the rest of the country doesn’t forget they exist. And their fiery presence is never felt so strongly as it is each New Year’s Eve the day of France’s unofficial festival of car-burning.
France limits petrol sales for New Year’s Eve

FRANCE is to limit sales of petrol and other combustibles on New Year’s Eve in a bid to curb what has become an annual tradition of revellers torching hundreds of cars, police said.
Youths in the often depressed suburbs of French cities have been torching hundreds of vehicles on New Year’s Eve since the early 1990s in what police say has become a competition to see which area can cause the most damage.
Autos-da-fé.
P.S. ... thanx for the 4 plus million.
Should we give a damn about problems in LA?
LA is a festering boil and should just be written off. Only the Big Un will solve the problem that is LA
An order, for police and citizens alike, to shoot on sight anyone who engages in this type of activity ought to keep it from being exported from Calimeximusifornia to other parts of our great nation.
Should we give a damn about problems in LA?
Just about every national trend starts in California and then goes mainstream because it gets written into scripts. Once its on TV as main plot, background or filler material, it grants permission for the rest of America to mimic them. If cars are being burned in California look, a year or two later, for cars to be alight in Peoria.
As racist as this sounds now, it will be mainstream thought once we have the problems France has. We must stop letting Muslims into the country. Radical or not, theyre the pine straw (fuel load) on the forest floor. Once the flames are started by the radicals then the entire fuel load will burn, taking civilizations roots with it.
We can only live as civilized as our neighbors will allow. If a Caucasian woman doesnt dare leave her house without a veil because she might be attacked and raped then she must step back into the ninth century just to buy groceries.
PING!!!
This is uncommonly humorous!
No sympathy here for Hollywood. Let the Muslims burn it to the ground. They asked for it, they deserve it. I hope Bill Maher’s car is ashes by now.
“Just about every national trend starts in California and then goes mainstream”
That used to be the case, but thankfully, no more. CA is a world unto itself now.
Let them try to torch cars in Texas or a few other places. That will last about a New York minute.
I really liked carbeque :-)
Sigh. You might want to rephrase that. I live in NYS. We have a "duty-to-retreat" in this state. If a car's owner gets medieval on some arsonist's hind end, the car owner will be the one prosecuted.
Hmm, maybe I should take a trip down to Bradford, or Birmingham during Ramadan, and burn me up a few cars.
"You know, some people are making a big deal out of it," said one popular singer in tears.
"Who cares? They're not going to go too far with it. Maybe those people are so poor, some of the people who do that they're so poor they've never torched anything in their lives. Let them torch those things for once."
Well played sir ( or ma’am)
