Romney's son jokes about Obama's birth certificate, grades
By Cameron Joseph - 12/30/11 01:20 PM ET
One of Mitt Romney's sons joked about President Obama releasing his birth certificate while campaigning for his father in New Hampshire on Friday morning.
When asked whether his father would release his tax returns, Matt Romney tried to make light of the question.
"He has not said that he will not do it, he has also not said that he will. I think it's a matter of time until that issue comes up because I think everybody has to get a chance to do that. And so I don't know the answer to that, I'm not sure if he knows the answer to that," Matt Romney said.
"But he'll do everything that he needs to. He's certainly not afraid of anything, not hiding anything you know, I heard someone suggest the other day that as soon as President Obama releases his grades and birth certificate and sort of a long list of things, then maybe he'd do it."
Tagg Romney quickly interrupted his brother: "That was not my dad saying that."
After Matt agreed, Tagg gave a more typical answer for a campaign surrogate. "When you're a candidate there's extensive financial disclosure forms that you do disclose quite a bit of information on, and so anything that the government or people think is important to know has been released," he said.
Presidential nominees traditionally release their tax returns, but Mitt Romney has said he is unlikely to do so.
A bit later Matt Romney apologized for his joke on Twitter. "I repeated a bad joke. My bad," he tweeted. It appeared to be his first ever tweet on the social messaging service.
Some still believe Obama is not an American citizen and that he has not released his birth certificate, although he has done so and it shows he was born in Hawaii.
Watch the video at the ConcordPatch here.
I know that's what he meant to say...
I wish the coverage of this campaign was about issues and ideas, not this sort of thing.
This is an issue at least IMHO!
Amen!
Too much fluff, not enough substance.

`Duh-duh-don’t tell my M-m-m-Mother I’m a journalist with the N-n-n-national Journal.
She thinks I’m sh-sh-shoveling s*** in the Shuh-Shuh-Sheboygan zuh-zuh-zuh-zoo.’

Anybody who takes a hard look at that BS “document” and still thinks it is a valid BC truly is a joke himself.
I guess adhering to the Constitution doesn’t meet the level of importance for some. We know where that vote goes.
There is a fraud in the White House.
Everything and anything that makes the public aware of his illegitimacy is an issue.
Very good catch!
The lies, it never ends.
Mitt Romney's son for President!

Crap. The linguini doesn't fall far from the spine.
There are only a few who think that 0 is not an American citizen but there are many who think that 0 is not a Natural-born American citizen, but apparently it does not matter any more.
The MSM, including the presidential candidates, like to point to the apparent evidence that he was born in Hawaii but that is conveniently ignoring the fact that his father certainly was never an American citizen.
So, what gives?
The media is focusing on the BC part of the quote, that way they can dismiss the other parts of the quote about Zeros grades and other documents without question.
Not about issues? Is not the Constitutional requirement for the office a valid issue? Does not the electorate have the right to expect that those they compensate to oversee elections would exercise due diligence in seeing Constitutional mandates are followed? Isn’t Obama’s incompetent botching the release of that doctored document a valid issue? A competent president would have granted the appropriate office of the State of Hawaii permission to release a certified copy as a matter of public record. Not like an illegal alien could use it for identity theft...
“Not about issues? Is not the Constitutional requirement for the office a valid issue?”
I have seen more than one Hussein Head here tell us not to focus on this “technicality”.
They know the truth...just under the barrel not to talk about it.
Matt, Mitt, Tagg
“When I was born, my parents pulled my name out of a hat too.”
Seven-and-Five-Eighths Romney
All of the dialogue will come out ....
Just like old editions of the Book of Morman and Mitt's various modifications of his book....
RIGHT?
