The potential for a third party presidential run from billionaire developer and reality TV star Donald Trump may be closer to becoming a reality show of its own.
The Blaze received a copy of a confidential email sent out late Thursday afternoon from a Florida Tea Party leader and personal friend of Trump. The email requested assistance in building a team in Texas to make certain that, if Trump chooses to run, his name would be on the ballot.
The email included:

Trump likes to see his name in the news.
End of story...
Then it seems you and I are in agreement.
What we need is a conservative on the republican ticket in 2012.
See my post #14....
With the faultering stage of wannabes on the GOP side, I don’t think any of them could win against Obama. After all, the MSM/Dems have 10 months to rehabilitate and resurrect The One into his Second Coming.
The most we might hope for is retaining the House [and that is shakey] and gaining the Senate [that may not be the shoo-in it seemed just a few months ago] and have four years of gridlock for Obama’s 2nd term.
The worst thing about hoping for gridlock is that the Republicans have a history of folding and bending over.
The outlook just isn’t as bright as it appeared in the Spring.
The only thing good about Trump running independent is it doesn’t add his name to the list of Republican loosers which is aready laughable enough.
Your progressive is better than their progressive?

How is your progressive better than their progressive?
All progressives are bad. Progressivism is America’s cancer.
Trump hasn’t a prayer against anyone, without a party to support him. My guess is he decided not to run in the GOP primary because he didn’t want his dirty laundry exposed.
If he runs as an independent, Obama’s team will leave him alone. They will KNOW his only function will be to draw votes from the GOP candidate and assure an Obama victory. And THAT he most assuredly will do - another Ross Perot in action.
Wrong. If Romney is the GOP nominee, a third-party run will guarantee a third-party win.
Romney and Obama will have to split the commie vote.
Donald Trump would more likely take votes from Obama than from most any Republican that gets nominated. Trump certainly appeals to the “tired of politics as usual” crowd, much like Ross Perot in 1992, but this time, the incumbent is a Democrat, not a Republican. It was the incumbent President getting punished in 1992, more than the Republican party.
Democrats that have grown weary of Obama would turn to Trump as the “nonpartisan” alternative, the same ones who would not vote for ANY Republican if a gun were put to their heads. So that would be a net loss for Obama, and unlike the Republican party, Trump could throw a billion or so into the race, matching the Soros machine just about dollar for dollar.
Question: At this late date, could Trump even get on the ballot in all fifty states? The Libertarian party certainly can, but they have been working on just that angle for several years now.
Now, if the Republicans would do the smart thing for once, and nominate a REAL conservative who will take the fight to the current regime, and make Obama and his agenda the issue, then maybe, just maybe, this could still go a real contest, and not a Soviet-style mockery of “democracy”, a system that in and of itself, is a ticket to tyranny.
Santorum can win. What, you mean, you read a poll that says......
?

LOL........... Well, I’m no Romney supporter(as you have seen) so....... I’m game.
I’m done with big government republicans. I will gravitate wherever I see the conservatism at.
Wrong. GHW Bush and his "read my lips" gave us Bill Clinton. Without his "new world order" and his tax increases, Perot would never have gotten traction.
You raise an interesting point. What if Trump runs as an independent and, while doing so, files suit against the One as being ineligible to be President? How would judges avoid dealing with the issue in that case?
Obama, Romney and Trump are the choices? Where is the leadership in this country? If it is those three, the focus needs to be on getting more conservatives elected to the House and Senate. We may not have a conservative choice for president this time. Incremental conservatism taking control of Congress may be all we have for now. It will check and balance whoever is in the White House.
Trump doesn’t give a damn about where Obama was born unless he thinks it will increase his name brand.
Right. The Bushbots don’t want to admit it, but even GHWB admitted in an interview shortly after the election that he didn’t mount a serious re-election campaign until too late. He was the incumbent. He thought he would win. He saw no need to get out and really campaign.
The election was his to lose — and he did.
Perot was just a sideshow.
Ding ding ding ding we have a winner. Now to out fox the GOP from forcing Romney and Obama on us.Obama wants Romney because they have a plan to annilate him with ROMNEYCARE and what a flip flopper Romney is.How sad it would be to watch Obama a flip flopper get ugly with Romney a flip flopper.America deserves much better than this.So then with the above scenerio; people will desperately go for Trump as a third party and he will chose Hitlery as VP and we are all screwed yet again!Paul needs to go away Obama loves him splitting the vote as well.Paul spoke like a loon at the debates. The independent voters will swing this one way or another to a tea party candidate or into chaos from hell.
