According to the latest Gallup tracking poll, more Americans approve of the job that President Obama is doing than disapprove for the first time since this summer.
The latest Gallup survey shows that 47 percent of Americans now say they approve of the way that President Obama is handling his job. This is a 5 percent improvement since the Dec. 16-18 Gallup survey and marks the first time the president's numbers have been in positive territory since July. The number of Americans who say they disapprove of Obama's job performance has fallen to 45 percent, down 5 points from Dec. 16-18.

Are all the poll numbers showing no GOP candidate beating Obama and ObamneyCare Romney barely maybe tying him; real?I didn’t believe the poll numbers back in 08 after Obama gave one of his ‘when the tides roll upon our shores I’ll be there’ unicorn fairytale hitler speech that idiotic americans fell for.
With this gaggle of spares the GOP has given us, I just don’t see how Obama loses.
Rush always says, “Don’t believe the numbers. They’re trying to de-moralize us.”
Bears repeating. This is a blip, as other said. There is a natural up and down, and the news has been manipulated heading into the holidays to make it seem like the economy is not in the toilet. The numbers will stay good for him heading into the new year as people get optimistic, and by February, people will realize once again, we are in the toilet economically. Only if we see true economic improvement will he not sink down again.
I think Zer0’s bounce in job approval may have been affected by one factor in recent events: The payroll tax cut issue.
The events surrounding the payroll tax cut issue made it appear that Zer0 won one for the middle class. However, very few take out their calculator and do any math. All they saw was the pizza boxes and the $40 worth of pizza they would not be able to buy from one month’s savings in the payroll tax cut. We have too many Americans with their brains stuck on pizza to bother taking out their calculator.
I did take out my calculator. They said that the payroll tax would cost the average (middle class) American $1000. One thousand dollars? That didn’t sound right if you multiply $40 by 12. So I divided $1000 by twelve to see how much the average American really saved each month. One month saves $83.33. You also need to consider the idea that Zer0s plan only goes for two months. So two months saves $166.67, but thats all they will get with Zer0s bill. The average American will then pay $833.33 more for the next 10 months! You pay $833.33 to get $166.67. Good night!
I would see Zer0’s policy resembling a protection racket. Chicago politics?
The swing vote (ie the idiot vote), the 5-10% in the middle, will keep swinging like a pendulum. The question is which way will they swing shortly before the election.
Those ‘08 numbers turned out to be real. I think these numbers are just as real. It’s not enough to be against Obama and his policies. You must be FOR something specific that the nation sees as desirable. None of the GOP candidates have voiced any such policy idea. If unemployment gets to 7.8 and no great economic or international disaster occurs, Obama wins in a walk. Best case is he has no coattails. But after the media harping about gridlock the last 12 months,I don’t have hope there either.
I flipped past that interview. MOoch looked like a man in drag with those fake eyelashes. It was so disgustingly fawning that it made me sick. They were holding hands and all snuggled up assuring Babs that they were both funny people when no one is looking. I flipped after about 30 seconds. Couldn’t stand to look at it.
Give the MSM/Dems another 10 months of polishing the t*rd, and it will be shining by the November election.
Anyone who bought the line that any Republican can beat Obama are fooling themselves. Incumbency is difficult to defeat. Republicans need to re-think who they have been and are pushing as their nominee, because 2012 is shaping up to be a repeat of 2008.
Alot will happen before the election. The Republican nominee hopefully will hammer him and the scandals should keep him down. As long as we don’t have another John mccain that was so afraid of him, we should be ok.
Not shocking to me. No matter what his poll numbers have been, large percentages of Americans still -- for whatever stupid reasons -- like him and want him to succeed. And, like I've said for months, Obama doesn't have a high bar to cross.. success isn't demanded of him, but rather the appearance of possible success, especially on the economy - and the "media" is full bore into inventing that "we're-turning-the-corner" narrative.
Compounding this fact is the Repubs also aren't making a powerful and convincing enough case for the sheeple to understand why diverting from the socialist path is good for the country. The electorate as a whole is not a particularly bright mass of people...they are distracted by the shiniest bling in their path, and so far the dems have been putting the prettiest stuff out there.
The dems and Obama are far more tenacious when waging critical legislative battles such as the payroll tax. After all the tough talk about standing firm against Obama, the Repubs -- once again -- had their collective ass handed to them. The dems know how to smell, taste and experience political victory. GOPers, on the other hand, are content with getting bad deals for the sake of a deal. Watching all this take shape are American voters. While not deeply educated in political matters, they do like to identify with winners. And there was only ONE winner in this last debacle.
Even without the chilling prospect of a Donald Trump or Ron Paul indie run, defeating Obama is going to be a horrendously difficult task, and Repub candidates' penchant need to stop destroying each other instead of training their rhetorical guns on Obama steepens that climb every day. The chances of pulling off this gargantuan upset are fading every day the Repubs take to flaying their own.
Unfortunately, "thinking Americans" have less and less influence on elections. Non-taxpayers who believe the government/MSM fake unemployment numbers and fake in inflation numbers will be thankful the "savior" has saved us and will reelect him.
I believe that equal to Obama in responsibility for the destruction of Our Country is the Democrat plant, Crybaby Boehner. The Democrats and Obama could not have done it without him.
Republicans that allow this get what they deserve.
AKA...news for bad thinking Americans...
Yep. If we have a clone of McCain, we're sunk. McCain was too impressed with and enamored by Obama to actually want to defeat him.

Bad news for Obama is that he has to come back from vacation someday.
Repub candidates’ penchant need = Repub candidates need
Think it’s bad now? Just wait and see if the elite get their way and nominate Romney.
