Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich leads the pack of Republican presidential hopefuls in a survey of Virginia voters released Wednesday.
But former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney would fare better than Gingrich in a general election contest with President Barack Obama, according to the Quinnipiac University poll.
Gingrich leads Romney by a margin of 30 percent to 25 percent among Republican voters, with none of the other GOP candidates topping 9 percent. In a head-to-head test, Gingrich tops Romney by a margin of 47 percent to 39 percent. Virginia will hold its presidential primary March 6.
More than half of the voters who participated in the poll disapprove of Obama's job performance. But no Republican candidate has a clear advantage over the president in a hypothetical general election race. Romney edges Obama by a margin of 44 percent to 42 percent, but the survey has a margin of error of 2.9 percentage points.
~~ snip ~~
Gingrich has surged in Virginia just as he has in national surveys.

If this doesn't get corrected, without thinking too deeply, I'd say vote for the crazy old loon Paul. This wouldn't help Paul any in the long run and would backfire on the GOP establishment and their boy Mittens big time.

The Republican Party of Virginia did the checking.
That’s pretty broad brush. I’d like to know if the checkers were Mitt supporters, and if any one else was watching to keep the Party honest?

It was the hierarchy of the VA GOP; i.e. the State Party Chairman and his minions. (See Post #33) Guess who they support.

True, and I’m still more of a Rubio promoter for VEEP than I am for anyone else. But being a woman and an American who is Mexican, Gov. Martinez could help with the Mexican vote nation-wide and we are losing that demographic speedily thanks to people like Michele Bachmann who want to deport 11 million people which is not practical.

I do not believe in people who disregard and flaunt the laws of the land.
I claim bogus - it's really your anti-Newt stance. Because your dander would be non stop about barry and you would be questioning did VA asked him to prove his natural born citizen status? Tell us now - why are you not hot on that trail with your I do not believe in people who disregard and flaunt the laws of the land. about that?
And your concern would be FOR a knowledge man who loves America willing to go through all the liberalism and rinoism tactics they throw at him in his quest to defeat this socialist and rino! It's NOT about you but OUR COUNTRY! You are either on board to go against this daily tidal wave of opposition against Newt or you are part of the problem. There is no in between. We are at war FOR our country.

The majority of voters in Virginia are otherwise going to be disenfranchised by the underhanded tactics of Romney operatives."Hey, Virginia Tea Party! Kiss my grits!"

Your argument is that Newt is a Conservative and that Romney is not? Now THAT is funny.

Wait, so Romney and Paul were thrown out too and then grandfathered in. I see lawsuits being filed next week. If the VA GOP was smart, they would just say a computer was made and put the 4 with over 10K on the ballot and everyone would be made whole for the most part. A Computer check that eliminates everyone is too onerous to make it thru the courts. Also, Virginia is still under the Voter Rights Acts.

Rombot,
Newt is a Ronald Reagan conservative.
Willard is a Teddy Kennedy liberal.
You're welcome.

Also, Virginia is still under the Voter Rights Acts. You really don't think the DOJ is going to intervene in favor of Republican voters, do you?

I’m all for rebellion, just don’t know what it looks like. I’m not sure what we have in choices or cards to play...I’d say Reince is an accomplice. I’d say Rove is. I hope our rebellion doesn’t include “Peroting” this thing and putting Obama back in the White House to make a point.
What does such a rebellion look like? Do we have some lawyers on our side?

Supposedly, for the first time, a computer was used to verify signatures and addresses on the petitions, and all were thrown out becasue so few matched EVEN those of Romney and Paul. So, Romney and Paul were grandfathered in becasue they were on the 2008 ballot.”
This is the first I heard of this little nugget. Where did you hear it from, and direct source, RPV, LSM, other?

I was for Cain, then when he dropped out, I also realized that Bachmann, Perry and Santorum are also fizzled out. Gingrich has more baggage than a 747 flying to Paris, so Romney is all I have left to root for since he can actually rally women to back him in November. As i have said many times, women will vote for Romney over Obama, thereby getting rid of the menace of Obama. Gingrich will not have the same support from women because many (if not ALL) will know about his cheating come NOV 2012 once the media and Chicago machine slime him with the facts about his bad behavior and his marriages. Please read my post history before embarrassing yourself any further with your unfair and absurd assumptions about me.
