On Friday's CBS Evening News, as correspondent Sharyl Attkisson filed a report to inform viewers that the House of Representatives had approved the Senate plan for a two-month payroll tax cut extension, Attkisson included a clip of Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid directing a "lecture" at and blaming House Republican freshmen for the delay, as she recounted his hope that they had "learned a lesson."
While the report included two soundbites from Democrats that allowed them to put forth some of their message - in the form of one clip each from Reid and President Obama - the CBS correspondent only included a couple of brief non-political clips of House Speaker John Boehner as the only Republican afforded a soundbite.

They get away with this because WE sit on our butts and let them, instead of burning down the phone lines to our local stations, and CBS New York.
Where to start? So tax cuts are now considered looking out for the middle class yet Bush ruined the economy with his tax cuts for the lower and middle class? And if these tax cuts are looking out for the middle class then wouldn't a year extension be better than a 2 month extension? And the biggie here that the MSM doesn't seem to mention that this payroll tax cut DECREASES revenue going to Social Security.
So, according to the MSM tax cuts help the middle class if they are for two months instead of a full year and DEFUNDING Social Security is now okay?
Our House and Senate "leadership" is selling us out to keep up the guise that they aren't ineffectual, cowardly idiots.
I just keep saying....one more year....one more year.
I hope Republicans learned a lesson too.
Never give in to the POS that is known as Harry Reid.
EVER.
The special committee failed...which triggered "something".
Are we up to a bazillion debt ceiling yet??
I have the same question. It’s either collusion or incompetence. Either way, Boehner should do the honorable thing and resign.
I’m tired of this “we control one-third of one-third” nonsense. We can stop bad legislation such as the two-year deal right in its tracks in either the House or the Senate if we would only have the will to do so.
Two-month deal. Oops.
CBS = Continuous Bull Shit
Yes. The GOP managed to preserve the tax cuts for two months, and in doing so got the Dems and MSM to spin the tax cuts as a good thing. If in two months the Dems prevent them from being renewed, they'll be the bad guys.
Amazing how the GOP still does not have the ability to get their message out along with their continuing cluelessness in how to combat an obviously hostile media.
There is no lesson to learn from a corrupt incompetent crook like Harry Reid, except how to marginalize or remove him from office unless one is as worthless as he is.
McConnell gave Reid the knife and he shoved it in.
The House is going to have to say F no to Reid in February and make it stick with a robust PR campaign.
>> Never give in to the POS that is known as Harry Reid.
That is the REAL problem.
Crybaby Boner and the gutless (R)s shaft us again. Big “DUH” that the MSM is going to rub their little puppy noses in it.
Republicans don’t learn anything anyway.
>> The House is going to have to say F no to Reid in February
Hyeah. Riiiight.
Recent history shows — again and again and again and again and AGAIN — that this sack of loser s___ Republican house is not up to the task of standing up for right.
“Recent history shows again and again and again and again and AGAIN”
Yup..you may be right ...pubbies are scared to shut it down. Dems war room propaganda machine is formidable.
