A Lesbian couple have become the first to share in the US Navy tradition of the 'first kiss' since the repeal of the American military's "don't ask, don't tell" rule.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Marissa Gaeta of Placerville, California, descended from the USS Oak Hill amphibious landing ship and shared a quick kiss in the rain with her partner, Petty Officer 3rd Class Citlalic Snell of Los Angeles.
Gaeta, 23, wore her Navy dress uniform while Snell, 22, wore a black leather jacket, scarf and blue jeans. The crowd screamed and waved flags around them.
"It's something new, that's for sure," Gaeta told reporters after the kiss. "It's nice to be able to be myself. It's been a long time coming."
For the historical significance of the kiss, there was little to differentiate it from countless others when a Navy ship pulls into its home port following a deployment. Neither the US Navy nor the couple tried to draw attention to what was happening and many onlookers waiting for their loved ones to come off the ship were busy talking among themselves.

Every other Weatern country, to say nothing of Israel, allows gays to serve openly. I guess by other countries, you mean China, who are largely apathetic to this sort of thing happening in other countries.
The only traditions of the Royal Navy are rum, sodomy and the lash.
...and then do they go home and mate? Not important. No need for Ms. A and Ms. B to copy mommy and daddy and do the stuff that generates life. Just kissing and fondling and rubbing and hugging - maybe even with some toys.

If this truly was a vote on board, I'm guessing this....and trust me, the media will never cover it this way....this girl and her lover were all about "THEM" in the interview, so I'm sure her shipmates knew she was a lesbian. That being the case and that she's kind of nice looking, the perverted sailors I knew would have wanted to see two hot lesbians kissing.
