Attorney General Eric Holders list of Operation Fast and Furious critics has grown over the past several days, as four more have signed on to a resolution of no confidence in him.
Republican Reps. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, Kevin Brady of Texas, Tim Griffin of Arkansas and Tim Walberg of Michigan have all now signed on as co-sponsors of Arizona Republican Rep. Paul Gosars no confidence resolution.
Though its not directly a call for Holder to step down, the resolution alleges that the nations top law enforcement officials actions have proven he is not competent, trustworthy and beyond reproach, and that he has sought to cover up mistakes rather than cooperate with Congress in disclosing the events and circumstances and transparently addressing the issues.
Griffin told The Daily Caller he signed on to the resolution because Holder has not actively held anyone accountable for Fast and Furious.
Attorney General Holders testimony before the House Judiciary Committee earlier this month confirmed what I already believed: the Departments Operation Fast and Furious and his mismanagement of the aftermath, including his unwillingness to hold people accountable, raise serious concerns about his ability to fulfill his duties as our nations top law enforcement officer, Griffin said in an email.
A spokeswoman from Bradys office told TheDC he is outraged about the ill-fated gun walking program, and with the Justice Departments continued stonewalling of congressional investigators.
Congressman Brady recently joined 80 of his colleagues in sponsoring a resolution expressing no confidence in the U.S. Attorney General in the wake of the Justice Departments disastrous and deadly Fast and Furious program, Bradys spokeswoman said in an email. Like many of his constituents and colleagues, the Congressman is outraged at the Justice Departments handling of the program and failure to cooperate with Congressional investigators.
Spokespersons for Blackburn and Walberg havent returned requests for comment.
The resolution declares that Holder presided over a law enforcement scheme called Operation Fast and Furious that was ill conceived at the outset and mismanaged.
It describes Fast and Furious as an operation that allowed thousands of weapons of various types to be illegally sold and or transferred from the United States to violent drug cartels and known criminals in Mexico and elsewhere, and that the operation was not set up to catch criminals and no proper monitoring of the guns being sold or transferred was undertaken.
The resolution also points out that Holder further failed to inform or cooperate with Mexican authorities even though hundreds of weapons were being sent to Mexico, and that Mexico is under severe stress due to drug cartel wars.
It adds that because of Holders failure to properly control, monitor, or establish Operation Fast and Furious, it is likely Mexican nationals were killed or wounded by weapons sold through this scheme, and that evidence further suggests that such guns have been used in the United States, and may be involved in the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.
The resolution declares that through Attorney General Holders office the Department of Justice initially provided false information to Congress, retaliated against whistle-blowers who provided Congress with information and redacted key information.
The no confidence resolution is a largely symbolic measure but is nonetheless a more official move than public statements from members calling for Holders resignation. It includes a breakdown of everything those in favor of the no confidence resolution allege Holder has done to earn it.
With Gosar, the lead sponsor on House Resolution 490, there are 81 members of Congress who no longer trust Holder in his office because of Fast and Furious. Additionally, 62* congressmen have demanded that Holder resign over the gun walking scandal. Between the two lists, which dont perfectly overlap, there are 90 members of the House who dont approve of Holders performance.
Those 62 congressmen join two senators, Republican Sens. James Inhofe of Oklahoma and Johnny Isakson of Georgia, every major Republican presidential candidate and two sitting governors in demanding that Holder resign.
Fast and Furious was a program of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, overseen by Holders DOJ. It sent thousands of weapons to Mexican drug cartels via straw purchasers people who legally purchased guns in the United States with the known intention of illegally trafficking them somewhere else.
At least 300 people in Mexico were killed with Fast and Furious weapons, as was U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry. The identities of the Mexican victims are unknown.
Instead of a useless “Resolution”...hiow about a Congressional indictment of Holder...or better yet...IMPEACH him
Cannot believe people still get fooled by the term “Resolution”.
Looks like GOP congress is going to handle Holder like they did with Obama Eligibility. Holder needs to be indicted well before the 2012 campaign goes full speed
No, not enough action. Without heat on your Congressman, don’t expect any action at all.
Nail meet hammer.
To # 15: YEAHUP! (Dave Hester), “Storage Wars” Mr. Nasty.
Love Barry Weiss. totally irreverant, great sense of humor, and probably retired. He once found a small electric piano in a shed and a pair of longhorn cattle horns.
He went into a music shop run by his friends, and when he found that they liked the piano, he give it to them. But first, he put the piano in front of them and then said, “Oh, I brought my horn section with me” and put the cattle horns on top of it. Best laugh in weeks.
ALso, when he saw a large crowd one day at an auction, he turned to the auctioneer’s wife, a pretty, buxom woman and said, “I’m going to hide in there.”
It just keeps on getting better. Even the repeats are priceless.
Also, “American Pickers” is fun, with a guy named “Ton” because, you guessed it, he probably weights about 350 lbs, with a tatooed head. He’s funny and extremely knowledgeable about mechanical devices. Also an excellent shot when it comes to testing weapons.
Storage Wars, the best show on TV today.
Why so few? Holder should be out on his ass along with his boss. IMPEACH them both for violating the CONSTITUTION.
That is quite an increase. In Oct. it was only 13.
Impeach him for violating the Constitution..
or impeach him for violating his oath of office ,...or
send him to Mexicio and have him explain to the mexican authorities why they were never notified about “Fast and Furious”... or why at least 300 mwexican citizens are dead due to his ‘total incompetance ‘....
or send him to Mexico and let them treat him like any other illegal immigrant , whereby they incarcerate him for three (3 years ) just for crossing the border ( not like in the US where they give an ‘illegal’ a court appearance.
Oh I was cracking up over Darrell and Dave’s bidding wars. What a hoot.
Did you see the one where Barry found a copper still in one of the storage units he bought ? he bought the unit for 600 and took the still to his 2 hillbilly buddies. They told him, and I about peed my pants laughing , that it was worth about 10 years in the pen. Ohhhhhhhh my sides hurt so bad and I was snorting, because I was laughing so hard.
Dad said to me “ I thought I raised a daughter, not a pig “ hehehehehe ( he was teasing and making fun of me snorting )
or , ..inviete him to be the priciple speaker at a Mexican security seminar ,.. and then see what happens.
If Holder thinks that he is innocent of any wrong-doing , he would go in a heartbeat...
Or maybe he would go ,.. and get shot by guns from “Fast and Furious” and then have to explaihn how they got there !!

Love Barry’s red weird pickup truck, plus his 1930’s or 40’s roadster, jag, cycles, and other cars.
He understands that life, at his age, should be enjoyed, and definitely not Politically Correct.
I've got to admit that I've also become addicted to that show. It's fascinating to me, because, what these people do is very similar to the business model my family will be adopting in the coming year.
Great show.
