..Fueled by a bigger pile of campaign donations than most of his rivals, Perry is blitzing Iowa in a 42-town bus tour that enables him to personally deliver his campaign message and capitalize on his skills at retail politics. Team Perry is also saturating the state with radio and TV ads and plans to import hundreds of Texans, including Republican state officials and pro-Perry lawmakers, to woo caucus-goers.
"Were certainly hearing his name a lot with radio and TV commercials, probably a lot more than the other candidates," said Dr. Bill Davidson of Bettendorf in eastern Iowa. "I like the commercials, particularly the one about his not being afraid to speak about his faith."
Davidson said last week that he is undecided but is likely to vote for Perry or former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania.
"Those are my two guys," he said. "It may come right down to caucus day."
Craig Robinson, a former political director for the Iowa Republican Party, said that Perrys wall-to-wall campaigning appears to be giving him a bit of a boost. "I think people are starting to give him a second look," said Robinson, who is founder and editor-in-chief of The Iowa Republican, a political website. "His bus tour is good for him, and I think it will help him."
...In one silver-lining aspect in his fall from the top, Perry has escaped the harsh scrutiny that falls on front-runners, giving him more freedom to promote key themes. Robinson said a fellow Republican who approached him at a recent political event told him that he initially supported Perry, then switched his allegiance to Gingrich and is now back to supporting the Texas governor.

Perry is far from being out of the game...
The latest from RCP national average.
Paul’s begun to slide.
Perry is trending up.
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.

Perry is saving the pretzels for the gas jets!
If he drops his opposition to illegal immigration enforcement, call me again.
Otherwise, i like him. He is also publicly opposing ethanol subsidies unlike our ethanol lobby prostitute. In IA that is courageous and principled conservative stand. I prefer Perry over Mr. Amnesty.
I think no one is out of the game, with the exception of Huntsman. This thing can go anywhere.
Go Perry!Go Bachmann!Go Santorum!
Perry/Bolton
Perry/Bachmann
Perry will be the last one standing.
Perry has been demanding enforcement; wants the border sealed; wants the cartels killed off; say's NO amnesty.
Perry has launched ahead by 3 tenths if a Percent! Now that's some serious “trending” there Tonto!
And Newt is down a whopping 3 points in spite of the MSM’s best effort to take him down with bogus Polling propaganda.
Newt is also planning on hitting 45 Iowa Towns with a bus tour over the week end.
Perry can spend millions (And is) but his pathetic campaign is still going nowhere. The man is permanently damaged. The sooner you learn to accept that and go on, the sooner you can get back into the real world.
Well, everybody including Obama say that they want to secure the border, so it does not mean anything.
I know there are few proven enforcement tools:
1: e-verify
2: fence
3: strict state laws, like those in AL, AZ
He is against all of them. Instead, he supports tax subsidies for illegals and has been in touch with hate group La Raza. Imaginary wall is the non-solution supported by all amnesty activists since they know it does not work and besides, future admins can end it anytime.
Perry is still better than Newt. At least Perry is publicly against amnesty and big gov initiatives.
Too bad for Perry. Without La Raza policies he would be leading and I would be his most loyal fan.
I got two weeks to decide, and between Perry and Gingrich I’m probably going to go with Perry.
I don’t watch The View.
You inspire me AB.
Other than TX in-state tuition rates, what has he done other than fight to keep the border secure?
Posting lies doesn't help the conversation.
Gov. Perry supports states having the right to enact laws to combat illegal immigration. He knows that until something is done on the federal level, filing lawsuits will only cost the states legal fees. Perry and the state of Texas (along with other states) have filed with the court to support the AZ law.
Perry has always supported strategic fencing in urban areas as well as surveillance and lots of boots on the ground.
Rick Perry on E-verify:
"I agree that some kind of electronic verification system is needed so we can make sure employers comply with the law not to hire illegal immigrants. E-Verify is a federal government created and run program, and as a result there have been a number of problems with it so far. The Department of Homeland Security estimated the system could fail to identify more than half of all illegal immigrants.
But just because it has problems doesnt mean we should throw employee verification out. It means we should make it work. Employee verification needs to be accurate so American citizens arent denied jobs based on bad data and undocumented immigrants dont slip through the system. And it needs to be less cumbersome for employers to use, so its not costing them money they could be using to create jobs.
So as president, Id work to put in place an E-Verify system thats more accurate, less burdensome and really delivers the results we need it to." "
