Buried in a recent New York Times profile of Attorney General Eric Holder is this revealing tidbit:
But Mr. Holder contended that many of his other critics — not only elected Republicans but also a broader universe of conservative commentators and bloggers — were instead playing “Washington gotcha” games, portraying them as frequently “conflating things, conveniently leaving some stuff out, construing things to make it seem not quite what it was” to paint him and other department figures in the worst possible light.
Of that group of critics, Mr. Holder said he believed that a few — the “more extreme segment” — were motivated by animus against Mr. Obama and that he served as a stand-in for him. “This is a way to get at the president because of the way I can be identified with him,” he said, “both due to the nature of our relationship and, you know, the fact that we’re both African-American.”
So, to sum up, the Justice Department willing gives thousands of guns to Mexican criminal gangs; this results in the deaths of two U.S. law enforcement agents (one of whom, Jaime Zapata, was Hispanic) and dozens of Mexican nationals; the Justice Department stonewalls and misleads in the ensuing investigations; and now Eric Holder claims that criticism of his conduct is fueled by racism? Right.
And in related news, The Daily Caller reports the New York Times may be inadvertently riding to Holder's defense:
In a New York Times interview with Attorney General Eric Holder, published Sunday, author Charlie Savage made use of a factual inaccuracy in what was — in effect — a defense of Holder from his chorus of critics.
Savage wrote that there are no “documents or testimony” to support allegations that Holder knew of the “gunwalking” tactics employed in Operation Fast and Furious.
“Mr. Holder has denounced the tactics used in the operation, known as ‘gunwalking,’ but said he did not know about them or sanction their use,” Savage wrote. “No documents or testimony have shown otherwise, but Republicans have pummeled him at oversight hearings and in news media appearances.”
Savage made these statements without attribution.
Despite those assertions, Holder’s office was provided with multiple briefings and memos about Operation Fast and Furious by top Justice Department officials. The memos contained intimate details of how Holder’s DOJ allowed guns to walk.

These people are completly dillusional. If the criticism was because he is black, then wouldn’t they just call him a effing you-know-what?
As long as they get mileage from the race card, they will play it. It needs to be debunked forcefully, not tippy Toed around.

Then I suggest we no longer have black attorneys general, since they hide their political schemes behind their melanin.

I wonder just how sympathetic the Times would have been to a claim by Nixon’s Attorney General, John Mitchell, that he had been a victim of ageism, bias against tall people, AGs with a loud wife named Martha, etc. I doubt they (or the others in the Watergate wolfpack) would have had the slightest sympathy.
Holder is what you get with affirmative action. The most racist policy seens the Democrats equal but seperate.
Tah dah! Right on cue. He’s back into a corner with no way out so he whips out the race card and waves it around like a magical shield of protection.
They turned the 2008 campaign into a racial issue, and won.

Eric, you are a devious and lying criminal. One of your crimes is acting on the notion that crime is racially based and crimes against white people should not be prosecuted. You are obvously the racist and your ongoing crimes make you a criminal racist.
PS. I’m going to enjoy watching (what law remains in) DC take you down.
At the very least, Americans have been punished enough by Obama so the slate is wiped clean.
