Perry hasn’t budged..sheesh.
ROTF!
No, the good patriot, Captain Perry isn’t budging any more than anyone else.
I remember the days when military service was almost a prerequisite for GOP candidates; but my, how times have changed.
The last two GOP Establishment darlings were/are Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney (though McCain filled that void after Rudy tanked).
At least we can finally kill one Establishment rule: Newt is not a Senator or Governor. the next time they tell us a Paul Ryan, Duncan Hunter, or good Congressman of the like can’y be taken seriously because they weren’t a Governor or Senator, we can hopefully point to the nomination of Gingrich and laugh in their faces.
Well, I sure the he!! ain't going to vote for Romney!
I would like to see Bachmann or Santorum up there however.
The best line I have heard about Huntsman came from McCarthy at National Romney Online (NRO):
How bad can the Obama administration be if we’re recruiting from it for our Presidential candidate?
The race was and remains a two-man race between Gingrich and Romney. Paul, Bachmann or Perry simply will not be the nominee.
Gingrich has taken a beating in television commercials and by the establishment GOP which stopped his momentum and even cost him a falloff in the polls.
Gingrich's performance in the Iowa debate on Fox stopped the bleeding and froze the contest between himself and Romney where we find them, with Gingrich very slightly ahead.
It remains to be seen whether the damage to Gingrich has been done in the sense that he is now inoculated from the charges that were rehearsed during the debate.
I really wish that conservatives would quit spreading out their preferences and settle on one candidate so as to keep Romney from getting the nomination. It’s really stupid to do otherwise.
Huntsman’s votes will go to Romney. That’s about all the bump he’ll get.
Santorum was my first choice, but he is dead in the water. I am always happy to bounce around and “wait and see,” but we are too late in the game now for any more Hail Mary passes.
I am backing Newt to defeat Mitt. I hope that others will do the same, and will like me applaud the efforts of their first choice but recognize the reality of the situation here at the end.
Newt will pick up a bit more, Romney will balance that with a loss and the rest will go to Perry.
End run....Newt, Perry
LOL!
Apparently all that chat by Mika and Joe in the AM EVERY DAY about how wonderful Huntsman is isn't ringing with me and that other person that watches their show. : D
The charges are really water necklaces. They won’t last.
Most people don’t even get Fannie and Freddie, and it takes a REAL stretch to try and hang it on Newt for the crime of giving advice they apparently didn’t heed.
He is too Pro-Life for Bachmann’s baby-killer charges to make any headway. Plus, following her charges that essentially said Perry wanted to make people have more retarded babies and that Cain voters supported him because they were stupid, she no longer has an effect with her over-the-top proclamations.
Bombast charges aren’t going to harm him, either - especially not from the folks who wanted Chris Christie to run.
Only last-second doubt raised by unlimited Romney/Paul/Perry/Bachmann attacks and limitless Establishment advertising dough can take him out now - and the only possibly result of that is a Mitt nomination, sadly.
Circle the wagons!!!!
Of course.
This persons vote will NOT go to waste unless it's Romney or Huntsman.
I will support any others who are victorious in the primaries.
I am however a bit concerned if it would happen, by a fluke, that RP got the nod...
Perhaps the best we may hope for is a deadlocked convention, in which NO candidate may get a sufficient share of delegates to be declared “winner”.
Then we may have to go to a brokered deal, with someone not now on the top tier or even actively running, being chosen to be standard bearer. Personally, I would like to see Herman Cain be reintroduced, and call upon Momma Grizzly Sarah Palin in a draft movement.
One can dream, I suppose. But this will be anything but a settled contest until well into the season.
The Establishment be damned for the force of evil they are.
- Add up all the numbers. There is still 18% for none of the above.
- Romney, has never been out of the 21-25% range.
- Why is Huntsman still bothering?
- Can 10% of Republicans still be dumb enough to want the nutcase?
Get over Palin and Cain. Palin is not interested, she has said so over and over, and Cain is toast. Live in the here and now.

The Freddie Mac complaint has to be clarified and laid to rest. Has Newt amassed a fortune and if so, when? He impresses me as a messy guy who is not particularly interested in material things. Do we know his net worth and how many homes, cars, pieces of art he owns. I’ll bet his sock drawer is a war zone. I suspect Callista is the tidy one.
