Obama and the politics of disappointment
By Tom Foreman, CNN

Washington (CNN) -- All politicians disappoint their supporters. It is a relentless truth in D.C.

They make pledges they can't keep, say things they don't mean, and encounter stiff headwinds in office that were just distant breezes on the campaign trail. The bigger their failed promises, the bigger the disappointment.

And just a few hours north of Washington, in the battleground state of Pennsylvania, it is easy to see that President Obama has a lot of disappointment standing between him and re-election.

"I believed in him 100%," says Andy Heller in Scranton. "I thought it was going to be a big turnaround from President Bush. But now you have to wonder."

Heller, 56, is a registered Democrat who runs Steamtown Blueprint and Copy Center, a small construction-related firm. In 2008, he placed yard signs for Obama, attended fundraisers and eagerly awaited a first term that he thought would bring more cooperation, more innovation, or at least a better economy. Since then, business has grown worse, the atmosphere in Washington has become more toxic and his faith in Barack Obama has steadily dwindled. "I'm not sure it was entirely his fault, but he made promises he couldn't keep."

**SNIP**

"When he spoke it was truly inspiring. I loved him in 2008, and right now if this were in a relationship, I'd be talking to a divorce attorney. When you mention Obama, there is a giant, collective sigh."

After you buy into the hype, prepare to eat the excrement sandwich.

The whole article concerns what is best for Obama. Nothing about what is best for the Nation, the economy, our standing in the world, veterans.....just how he can save his butt, his perks and his poor little self. Blame others.

The pathos POTUS.

No, dimwit, it IS all his fault, and if the Republicans hadn't stood in his way, the situation would be much, much worse than it is now.

Honest to GOD, how can people be so f-ing stupid? Anyone with a functioning brain cell could see what this guy was a mile off, even back in 2008.

I'd bet my last dollar that this loser will vote for the obummer again in 2012.

I saw a guy in a new SUV on Monday with an obama 2012 sticker and looked at his car and just shook my head in disgust.

He saw my reaction, went ballistic, threw me the bird and started to get out of his car but the light change probably saved him.

I carry a 357 and a 38 {with a permit} and there is the recently passed Castle doctrine here in PA which allows a person to protect their property and life either at home or away from home.

I've not seen such rage over just a head shake.

It was obvious that this person has taken some heat over that bumper sticker because of his high level of sensitivity toward any type of disagreement.

That was only the second obama 2012 sticker I've seen here {but it is pretty early in the cycle}.

It is a sign that the losers have not converted to common sense and we need to remember that we are going to have to work our butts off in this coming election cycle.

Maybe next time a candidate says he wants to “fundamentally transform” the USA they will ask him “Transform to WHAT?”

Because logic is completely foreign to liberals. Like the unemployed brick layer working part-time in the pizza place for minimum wage while rabidly insisting to me that his union ALWAYS takes care of him. His unemployment is the fault of greedy (conservative) business owners refusing to expand their businesses so they could pocket all their profits.

“It was obvious that this person has taken some heat over that bumper sticker because of his high level of sensitivity toward any type of disagreement.”

A prerequisite to support Obama is to be a thief. It is not big step from a thief to a mugger, and a mugger to a murderer.

No moral person can support Obama. No stable person can follow him. No thinking person can believe him. These things are simply impossible.

I would ask someone like Mr. Heller how it is that a fifty-something businessman could get sucked in by an obvious Marxist charlatan like Obama? Obama would not have gotten elected except for the gigantic pool of ignorati who voted for him. During the 2008 campaign I remember seeing Obama signs in front of a number of businesses in my area and thinking how could these people be so stupid? Unless they were getting something from the Dem machine, they’re all fools. Like Mr. Heller.

Hey, hussein just didn’t have enough time——to COMPLETELY destroy this nation, but I’m sure his voters will give him another chance.

I’m about to get a “FUBO” bumper sticker from CafePress to acompany my Impeach Obama sticker that look like an Obama sticker from a distance. Once people realized what the “Impeach” sticker was, I’ve gotten a lot of complements on it. It’s never been vandalized even though I’ve driven all over the country with it in the last year and a half, to Davis, CA and back last year, and to the east coast and DC area this year, returning home via the Outer Banks and Wilmington, NC.

"I believed in him 100%."

Evidently some folks in Scranton and environs don't read or hear the Psalms often enough:

Put not your trust in princes, in the sons of men in whom there is no salvation.
His spirit shall go forth, and he shall return unto his earth.
In that very day all his thoughts shall perish. . .
