Broadcast on: ABC Televsion.
Moderators: Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulos.
Candidates: Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry and Rick Santorum.
Even if Perry were to get the nomination, he killed his chances in the general election with the “Strong” ad.
So did Hillary, and I now hate her as President :-) ( sarc / off )
Yep. What you said.
I will add another huge thank you for this site.
Agree with you about Bachmann, Paul is too old.
Like Newt now but didn’t before only because he is so use to debates that he does so well.
Perry was great tonight. Made some good points.
Barry Obabma would make mimncemeat out of Perry.
What part of Newt telling the truth upsets you?
I’m not trying to convince you of anything, because you’re not interesting.
Don’t know where you got the word “honor.”
This is the best debate Huntsman has ever had!
Benedict XVI Vespers at the National Shrine
Callista in the choir.
What you said.
Perry right up there with Newt tonight...pretty pleasing performance...
I loved that ad! :)
One of the things that made this debate better was 2 fewer persons on the stage to suck up questions and responses.
If/when we lose one or two more, we should see better questions with more substantive responses.
Romney seems to have lost the most tonight.
Perry seems to have gained, with several good lines.
Gingrich survived the attacks.
Bachmann did okay.
Santorum did okay, but probably didn’t gain anything.
Paul no gain, no loss.
What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger. Newt is weathering the heat very well. What we haven’t heard from him yet is that he is the expert in knowing how to manage congress and get things done. If Newt is successful in running off with this, he will force the republican moderates in line and can work to grow coattails going into the summer.
It is no question he is a brilliant guy with significant accomplishments as speaker. I just hope he can consolidate power quickly and force the moderates into submission. This garbage we are getting from Jim Talent, Tom Coburn, others has to be stopped. The apparent respect he got from Perry is significant. I think Perry benefits and can neutralize (or Newtralize) Mitt.
This was like so setup for Obama’s crew to take notes.
Actually PBS had a fund raiser on and featured Sinatra. I kept switching back and forth.Could not help myself. NO booze for me !LOL!
That’s a ridiculous statement. Perry would make Obama tremble in his loafers.
