Romney refuesed a Lincoln-Douglas style debate with Newt? Is this also true?

Yep..I heard that too..... and 'news flash'....Rush just said Romeny's made it clear he supports the Global Warming issue!!!!! He'll go down for that one....says humans are the cause for global warming though he doesn't know how much...but that carbon as to be controlled....so he's up for cap n' trade.

That should do in Romney pretty fast among conservatives if this gets feet in the press

All three conservatives....I can go for that!

Bachmann, Santorum ... who's the third?

I'm losing patience with the feint hearted on our side who avoid truth for fear of what the MSM might say about them.

The left has no such problem because they stick together. What really makes me angry is that its criticism from 'moderates' our side that lends credibility to the scoffers in the media.

If egomaniac, Trump runs “third party” he will be helping to bring about the destruction of the US.

I’m amazed at the number of Trump fans within FR. The guy exudes all the sincerity of a scene from a reality show. I hope as each of these candidates make their trek up the mountain to see His Donaldness and beg for his endorsement, they keep in the back of their minds he’s sizing them up for a possible run against them on a third-party ticket.

The one thing that motivates Trump more than self-worship is $$$$$$. A sweet enough offer from the dark side might put him on the field in 2012, guaranteeing (by design) an Obama reelection.

I don’t trust Trump... never have and never will.

Debates, live debates, direct confrontations are the best, they’re democracy at its finest. Like I said, way-way better for understanding the candidates than commercials!

Oh absolutely.....but not so good for Perry. And Bachmanns playing politics with who is worthy of her presence any more. I wish she'd get off this kicker she's on...it makes her look like an elitest and bad for the party overall.

In case you haven’t gotten wind of it...just wait til HollyWood actors step out for Obama in droves and host events for Him. We’d better have someone on our side to do likewise.....it’s war also against Hollywood.

lost cause CW. Palin endorsed the debate. Therefore, it is a must attend event (that is the basis behind everyone here who is saying it is a bad thing for Perry not to attend even if they didn’t mention that tidbit)

I’m on the fence about whether or not I think Bachmann should attend. An issue she had in addition to Trump maybe still considering 3rd party, is that recently Trump has made comments that he is leaning towards a particular Republican. If this is the case, then what kind of bias would Trump have in a debate. Yes, the MSM gives special preferences to Romney in their debates, but in reality they hate all the contenders up there. If Trump is leaning towards Newt, what good does it do a Perry or Bachmann to show up there?

Trump loves his country, too.

Trump loves Trump. Anything beyond that is merely speculation.

If our hopes of defeating Obama rest on countering Hollywood with the likes of Trump, we're dead anyway. Trump does what enriches/aggrandizes himself and it stops there.

What do you think the odds are Obama will decline a Jerry Seinfeld fundraiser because Seinfeld is not a serious figure and attending would be 'beneath the office' of president?

Why do we insist on hog-tying ourselves?

Name one single politician who isn't doing so at this time? If Trump runs...soooooo? Do you really think it's going to make that great of a difference? Come on....but if he hosts...well now that'sa horese of a different color...though he'll likely use it to his advantage no doubt....so come on what media pundits aren't doing the same thing? What moderators otherwise?

Zactly! The Donald may talk like he’s a super conservative, but in his heart is first and foremost a promoter.... of the Donald.

My take on this “Trump” debate is that Newt needs to be careful, Trump may sound like he’s Newt’s hottest PR man and when it gets down to the nutcuttin, he is either pro-Mitt or jumps over to 3rd Party or even works out some sweet deal with nobama (i.e. the Birther thingy that resulted in nobama pushing out fakeroo BC and Trump mysteriously moving on without a word more).

Newt can’t skip this debate. Kissing Donald’s ass has become second nature to him at this point. Besides, he fears that the Donald could pull a hissy fit and run third party thus threatening to steal elements of Newt’s jingoistic base.

Good for Perry, Trump is a showboating RINO and no friend of conservatives.

I don’t know why Bachmann would turn this down - I hope she doesn’t. She has good debating skills and could be impressive.

I am fine with Rick Perry's decision. He does not need to do the circus that Trump brings to everything he does.

Rick Perry the ONLY conservative running for President.

Sorry to burst your bubble but Newt said dealing with climate change was “urgent” and that he agreed with “60%” of John Kerry-Teresa Heinz Kerry’s 2007 book, “This Moment on Earth: Today’s New Environmentalists and Their Vision for the Future.”
