This will end up being the least watched of the televised GOP debates. And that will be saying something!

Thomas Jefferson has written about Debates. He hated them, seldom participated, yet he was quite possibly the most intelligent man on the planet at the time. In view of that, I’m not jumping all over Rick Perry. Look at how successful he’s been in Texas. It’s something to THINK about!!!

Trump's a clown. I wouldn't line up for my pie in the face either. A little dignity for the office Perry is striving for isn't a bad thing.

Besides, if this debate ends up losing money, Trump will walk away and leave the candidates to deal with the catering bill and the angry, unpaid union goons. That's how The Donald rolls.

Pretty sure that there is no love lost between Perry and Rove. Rove was with W when W and Perry had a fair amount of intra-Texas animosity. If you can show me where Rove has spoken preferentially about Perry, please let me see a link.

I’m sure he and his team had serious conversations before making this decision. I hope it doesn’t hurt him more.

Trump can showboat and that can’t help, but face time could if he put in a good performance. So....it’s kind of a toss-up.

I hope they have good height clearance to accommodate the big heads that will be occupying that space.

Seems to me the Perry supporters and Perry are not being smart relative to the Trump debate. The lame stream media and GOP establishment are screwing We the People and Perry won’t get a break from them for not participating in the Trump debate. They want Romney and that’s what this is all about. Now that MB has dropped out, the media and political establishment get to say GAME, SET, MATCH. Dumb.

So what's this...repeat something enough and people will believe it?

I disagree....no matter how it goes it certainly isn't going to be worse than what the media's done on the whole. Which was certainly a show.

Have you been paying attention at all?? Trump is a possible opponent to every Republican who shows up on that stage. He is still threatening to run as a 3rd party candidate! It is stupid and irrresponsible for any Republican to play trump's game.

But don't worry about Newt not having anyone to debate with him. Since he's taken every position, on every issue (and profitted from most) he can debate himself all evening.
