I believe Newt will be hit harder on being an Insider With Benefits, and will not recover. Rush with yesterday's caller [soon to be testifying in court] on Fannie/Freddie, Temporary Credit Ratings provided for higher risk mortgages etc. could expose more on who knew and when they knew. Frank found an appropriate time to leave in more ways than one, could also direct more controversy onto Gingrich.

Paul and Bachmann said do not actively trade stocks.

Beck asks how we can trust Gingrich. Bachmann says Gingrich has taken over 100 million dollars into his headquarters the Newt,Inc. on K Street, the Rodeo Drive of Washington, from "influence peddling" or "crony capitalism".

She said Newt was “on the take” which implies criminal corruption, e.g., bribery.
Therefore I will not be listening to her anymore.

A Mortgage Broker on Rapid Credit Rescores for Subprime Loans
December 07, 2011

“the original part of this rapid rescoring problem. If you had a business or you were a small business person and you didn’t necessarily have a 1099 or W2 or your books didn’t show or you didn’t want it to show that you had enough to pay for this loan, all you had to do was walk in the door with a credit score greater than 700.

RUSH: Okay.

CALLER: And I can tell you that if you were anywhere up north of 580 we could rapid rescore you to 700 within an hour.

CLIP

CALLER: I probably couldn’t name any name, but I can tell you that it was Fannie and Freddie because every mortgage seminar that we went to — remember the little Fannie, Freddie junkets they had in Chicago that people were upset about the $600,000 they spent? Those are relatively common in the mortgage business. We used to go to them once or twice a year. Fannie and Freddie were there, and they might as well have set up a carnival booth. I mean they were so excited about the fact that if you were a new mortgage business and you could get a wholesale line of credit, you could rapid rescore and qualify 500,000 people in a year, and they would back and buy everything you could send them.

Gingrich has businesses in which he was the product that was sold.

It is no different than a lawyer selling his knowledge and expertise.

Newt is extremely knowledgeable and expert in the workings of government.

I’m amazed that lawyers can go back to lawyering and not have these kinds of charges thrown at them.

“Therefore I will not be listening to her anymore.”

Why? Because the truth hurts?

Palin said yesterday that Newt is part of the problem:

“Mr. Gingrich, show us what you have done to fight that [corruption], so that we can through relentless and sudden reform that is needed with a new President, that you can be the one to continue that reform. Now, if you haven’t been a fighter and successfully helped reform, well then you’re not going to get voted into office, and I’m saying that not specifically to Gingrich but to any of you, any of the candidates who have been a part of the problem”

No, she said his Newt,Inc. made money from his[their] influence peddling. Is that illegal to sell your influence? No.. Everyone who is Anyone in politics does it, but the Fannie and Freddie hot button becomes a real personal and deciding issue to many.

Check the Rush transcript-I posted a link to above. Beck only asked should we trust Newt?

Post 4..we all need to know everything we can of substance about the candidates--whether we like it or not; then we can decide.

I am undecided, but I do like Bachmann; but then I liked Herman-the best 'stuff' is always saved for last.

Who will make it "cross Go"? In fact, the rules of Monopoly are rather ironic in some cases to the times. The Luxury Tax, borrowing on credit..

There are several versions.

Newt doing an ad with Trump in Iowa would overshadow his controversial ad with Pelosi. Newt is one really smart guy, I will admit and does not waver under pressure, knows how to handle the media..that alone makes for a strong leader, if we can believe the man is really who he portrays himself to be.

We need a leader where we can finally sit back and breathe out--not holding our breath all the time.

No, she said his Newt,Inc. made money from his[their] influence peddling . . . . .

________________________________________________________

To me what Newt did is indefensible. I don’t know that it was illegal, I hope for his sake it isn’t. For a politician who says he fought against certain principles for years to promote the same principles for money shows a lack of sincerity.

People can make a bad choice with a spouse, it happens. Making a bad choice is not a reason for infidelity, period.

Newt is a wonderfully gifted, intelligent man with some conservative values. If he wins the Republican nomination I will vote for him, but then again I would vote for any republican over “O”, I voted for McCain.

Newt knows how to play the system and does it well. We, most of us anyway would like a more pure ideologically true conservative, like Bachman.

One CANNOT trust a man that has proved himself time and again to be untrustworthy. That is the answer... you can vote for newt... he is better than obama... but if you trust him... you are a fool.

Palin definitely says he cannot play an 'outsider'.

Palin said yesterday that Newt is part of the problem:

If Palin said this she made a big mistake. Newt will get the nomination you can bet on that and Palin is not in the running. To alienate the Republicans in most States that are now endorsing Gingrich she better reconsider or she will split the party and we will get King Obama.

The Media power players definitely like her--Rush, Beck etc--?

People see such a risk in Obama's return, and that makes people give up their principles to win and will settle for safe...maybe. Plus, she being a Woman and would become the first woman POTUS, even though a successful tax lawyer, popular politician, a mother above and beyond, happy marriage, religious, attractive, a TRUE conservative-really breaks that glass ceiling all to pieces. Plus, people genuinely seem to like her that meet, work or greet her, period.

The Right are scared the real deal can't win over a no deal isolated thinking president like Obama. He threatens the America we know and love. The same one his wife was not proud of til Obama, the one that Obama now states has been in the wrong since its founding. The country that had "A Bomb"[one] dropped on its own Pearl Harbor, in his home state of Hawaii. Barack Hussein Obama gives new meaning to the term "going rogue".

No, she said “on the take for over a hundred million dollars to influence peddle...”
I don’t put things in quotes carelessly. I heard her say those EXACT words two days ago.
She said Gingrich was “on the take.”

Palin was quoted as saying Newt cannot play an 'outsider'. That may relate to Newt as an insider and powerful player under several presidents for all those decades; plus lends the question of this highly paid man of such great influence but claims self immunity from the mortgage crisis-Fannnie etc. He is not some staffer, political hack or aid, he is always a full time very intelligent Information In Chief. He has certainly been part of history. He could become a great president, but will he get the chance.

Uh, lawyers (AKA congress) make the laws, therefore they are the first to be exempted from the laws they make and pass.

The Bard was right, let us kill all the lawyers first.

she said “on the take for over a hundred million dollars to influence peddle...”

1:46 into the interview [link above] will hear her answer last night on GBTV [Free] to Glenn's question on Fannie and can we trust Newt--I showed you mine now you can show me yours which must be out there some where in those exact terms and in context as "you heard", which I am not questioning your quote as to be taken lightly--I just have to hear and/or see it to judge for myself.

Mr Beck does fully disclaim he would vote for Bachmann if he were to vote today. But his questions were preceded by his take after speaking with Newt.

You can take money for your services rendered and "take" does not mean stole or was underhanded in any way or "on the take". You can peddle your wares [yourself] and the language is still what it is..we can interpret in different ways. http://republicanredefined.com/ other interviews.

But the Rush transcript [above] just out opens the can of worms wider in regard to trust issues of who told us what, who knew when and to my regret doesn't leave Mr. Bush off the hook either.

Thanks

True. Though I may think highly of her, when Palin is paid for a speech, she too is peddling her influence for specie.

Good point. It’s the name of the game, it’s job security like becoming a sports announcer when out of the play.
