Holder heading to House hot seat, Fast and Furious grilling on the way

On Thursday morning, Attorney General Eric Holder will appear before the House Judiciary Committee and he’s set to get grilled over Operation Fast and Furious.

Fast and Furious was a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives program overseen by the Justice Department. The operation facilitated the sale of thousands of weapons to Mexican drug cartels via straw purchasers. Straw purchasers are people who legally purchase guns in the United States with the known intention of illegally trafficking them into Mexico.

At least 300 people in Mexico were killed with Fast and Furious weapons, as was U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry.

Holder first testified about Fast and Furious before the House Judiciary Committee on May 3, and then testified about it before the Senate Judiciary Committee on November 8. This is Holder’s third major appearance before a congressional hearing on the operation, and second before the House, which Republicans control.

Also before the election:

Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy, D-NY. Before Obama’s inauguration, she pressured Obama’s transition team to:

back her ban on ammunition Magazines.

But, as she later confided to Newsweek,

“They told me that’s not for now, ..........that’s for later”.

Since then, the White House has Maintained almost military disipline in it’s:

“DON”T TALK ABOUT GUN CONTROL” directive.

Whenever anyone breaks rank on the issue, they’re quickly brought back to toe the line.

Also When Obama talked with Mrs Brady on one of the Anniversaries he told

her he was working on some form of Gun Control .......”UNDER THE RADAR”

Sen. Grassley & Congressman Issa are doing an excellent job with the Fast & Furious Investigation..... They are both making most of us proud to be Americans... This corruption “is” being exposed & PEOPLE WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR RECKLESS ACTIONS!!!

I just want to know one thing..

What is the justification of sealing the record of “Fast and Furious” , when the Dept of Justice/FBI/DEA/Homeland Security are all possible defendants and co-consprirators in the murder of two Federal agents ?

Media have said that this was a “botched investigation”.
What was “botched” ?
Unlimited guns to straw purchasers
No attempt to follow - in fact, ordered to “Stand Down”
No mini-gps installed in weapons
Purchases authorized by agency supervisors
No notification to Mexican authorities

The only “botched” part of the investigations seems to be when agents had had enough of allowing/encouraging illegal activity by their supervisors . Only when a US agent was killed with these weapons did an agent stealthly come forth and become a WHISTLE BLOWER ~ otherwise , “Fast and Furious” might still be an ongoing operation !!

There can be no “Just-us” when the department head blames “You poeple”.

Another topic that will almost certainly come up is reports of politically opportunistic administration officials using Fast and Furious tragedies to further a gun control agenda. On Wednesday, CBS News’ Sharyl Attkisson reported that newly surfaced emails indicate Obama administration officials discussing how they’d use Fast and Furious to push for a new multiple sales long gun reporting requirement.

IMHO, this is the nail. Put a fork in them they're done.

Another interesting dynamic is going to be how Judiciary Committee Democrats handle the hearing. Most Democrats have remained relatively silent throughout the Fast and Furious investigation and the surge in calls for Holder’s immediate resignation, but some are finally talking.

On Tuesday, Illinois Democratic Rep. Luis Gutierrez said he’s not convinced Holder knew of Fast and Furious, but thinks the attorney general “should leave” if he did. He does, however, think Republicans are playing politics with the scandal. Congressional Hispanic Caucus chairman Rep. Charlie Gonzalez, a Texas Democrat, also thinks Republicans are playing politics.

Well, if the shoe were on the other foot we'd have heard from them already. Had a Republican done this there would be pictures of the Mexican victims with their crying mothers all over the news. LaRaza, Gutierrez, Gonzalez, and all the others with names ending in vowels, would be demanding heads to roll. If Republicans don't use this against Obama in 2012 they're crazy. This will be one way to prove to Americans of Hispanic descent that democrats don't give a $^!+ about them. The democrats put guns in the hands of the drug cartels to kill Mexicans. Mexicans who are related to a whole lot of Americans.
